We'll be treated to a great game on Tuesday night in Texas when the National League and American League clash in the 2024 MLB All-Star Game from Globe Life Field in Texas -- and some of the brightest stars in baseball will warrant consideration for the game's top prize.

There are plenty of household names who will be taking the stage for both teams, but I'll be looking a bit further down the list to target some under-appreciated names on the National League roster who might take home the MVP award.

With the NL in a good position to win the game for a second straight year, will the MVP once again come from the winning team?

Let's get right into my 2024 MLB All-Star Game MVP picks and predictions for on Tuesday, July 16.

Christian Yelich Odds to win 2024 MLB All-Star Game MVP

Yelich may be my favorite pick to win All-Star Game MVP this season. I've covered this in my 2024 MLB All-Star Game preview, but I'm of the belief that the National League will have an excellent showing at the dish. The American League will be trotting out inferior arms here, and the hitter-friendly nature of this park should mean we see some home runs.

Well, Yelich just about ticks off all the boxes. He's leading the NL with a .326 average and .412 on-base percentage, sitting third in MLB in both categories.

• Unlike some of the names up there with him, too, he hasn't slowed down at all and has actually been at his best in July, slashing .349/.472/.698 in July with three homers in 12 games.

Yelich finds himself in a prime position to impact the game, hitting sixth in a loaded NL order that should produce plenty of baserunners for him by the time he takes both of his at-bats, and the likelihood he breaks the game open or moves the NL out in front are quite high.

I don't see much value in backing Ohtani here given his spot in the lineup and the reliance on him to hit a home run here to take home the award. Yelich just needs a pair of situational hits to stand out, and he has done that all season long.

Elly De La Cruz Odds to win 2024 MLB All-Star Game MVP

De La Cruz may not be starting this game, but there's a reason he's not as much of a longshot here as some of the others in this game who will be limited in their exposure.

• The wunderkind leads all players with a stunning 46 stolen bases this year, beating out the next-best man, Brice Turang, by 16.
• He will hit against a vulnerable AL bullpen in the middle of this game, so if he can just get on, he'll make a real imprint on this game with his ability to run wild on the bases and create what could be a game-changing run.

You want to find the players who will take this game into their own hands to lift their team to victory, and that's something which De La Cruz frequently does with his speed on the bases.

He's been impossible to gun down when attempting steals, and it really should just take one walk or hit for him to influence the public to vote for him here.

Factor in, too, that he will likely sub in for Alec Bohm -- who should be lifted early -- and have some capable RBI men behind him in either Teoscar Hernandez and Jurickson Profar or perhaps Marcell Ozuna and Freddie Freeman and the chances of him scoring a big run here are high. He'll put on a show.

Ketel Marte Odds to win 2024 MLB All-Star Game MVP

Like Yelich, Marte isn't exactly the sexiest pick to win this game given he's a model of consistency which many would find boring to bet on here. With that, though, consistency can't be discounted in the All-Star Game where hits and runs are generally at a premium against good pitching.

• The lead0ff man for the NL, Marte should be guaranteed at least two plate appearances and will take his handsome .877 OPS into some key spots.
• He's also been seeing the ball incredibly well of late, hitting .216 in May before breaking out to hit .341 in June and .333 in July with nine home runs in the past 36 games across those two months -- and as a switch-hitter he won't fall victim to some of the slight platoon advantages his teammates have.

Marte might be one of the best overall hitters on either team, and as a man who will be featured heavily in the leadoff spot, it's hard to understand why his odds are so poor.

The popular bets will all be on the big names like Ohtani and Paul Skenes -- and while they're deserving favorites and have many fans, the voters can be easily swayed by just one big moment.

The veteran is hitting .317 with runners in scoring position this season and is a stellar .270 in this split for his career. Expect him to come through in the clutch and position himself to win this award.
