The NBA season may be over but that doesn't mean we don't have some basketball action as the NBA 2K25 Summer League is ramping up the intensity.

The newly drafted rookies and second-year players are looking to make a statement this summer to get the call to the main roster to get some playing time in the 2024 season which makes for some great basketball during this Summer League action.

With that said, we take a look at this NBA 2K25 Summer League matchup to make a Hawks-Bulls prediction and pick.

Atlanta Hawks NBA Summer League Team Analysis

Atlanta Hawks (0-3) haven't had the summer league success that they had hoped for especially coming into the tournament with the No. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher.

Risacher has had some growing pains over the course of their first couple of games and then had to sit out during their loss to the Los Angeles Lakers due to a right quad contusion, so it remains to be seen whether or not he will be available for Thursday night's matchup.

• Risacher is averaging 14.5 points while shooting 39% from the floor and 25% from 3-point range in his first two games of action this summer.

The Hawks are coming off their third loss this summer league to the lowly Los Angeles Lakers who were also without their first-round draft pick Dalton Knecht.

Their lack of depth really did them in as they got off to a hot start but slowly faded down the stretch ultimately dropping the game 87-86.

The Hawks got hit with the injury bug and were without some of their key players

• Forward Mouhamed Gueye has been ruled out for the remainder of the summer league with a hip contusion
• Forward Zaccharie Risacher was ruled out on Wednesday with a right quad contusion
• Guard Kobe Bufkin has been ruled out for the remainder of the summer league with a right shoulder subluxation
• Guard Dylan Windler was ruled out Wednesday with an elbow injury

The Hawks are going to need a full cast of players if they want to finally get themselves in the win column on Friday night against the Chicago Bulls. As long as that Risacher and Windler at least come back that's a much-needed boost of offense that can take it to the Bulls to get the win come Friday.

Chicago Bulls NBA Summer League Team Analysis

Chicago Bulls (1-2)?are coming off their second loss this summer with a 77-85 defeat to the Detroit Pistons. While the Bulls' starters had themselves a good game, their lack of depth beyond the starters was the difference maker.

• Matas Buzelis the Bulls' No. 11 draft pick continues to lead the team in scoring where he had 18 points on 7-18 shooting from the floor but shooting just 1-6 from 3-point range.

The Bulls however had a rough time on the boards against the Pistons who were able to outrebound them 44-36 and just dominate inside the paint.

That is something the Bulls will need to do a better job against in their matchup against the Hawks in their fourth summer league game on Friday night.

Even in the loss the Bulls did shine especially with their starting cast who all ended with double-digit points to finish out the game.

• Center Adama Sanogo scored 10 points and had 6 rebounds
• Guard DJ Steward scored 15 points to go along with 6 assists and 6 rebounds
• Forward Matas Buzelis scored a team-high 18 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals
• Forward Julian Phillips scored 12 points? to go along with 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks

With the Hawks being a bit banged up, the Bulls can capitalize and get their second win of the season if they play solid and cohesive basketball on Friday night.
