Portland Trail Blazers (21-56) are now just 2 games ahead of the bottom-feeding San Antonio Spurs and the rest of the season is lost at this point. As of now, the Trail Blazers are just looking toward the future and what they can achieve from the NBA draft as they come into the 2024-2025 season.

For the rest of this season however, the Trail Blazers will look to gain some momentum before the season's end, and for them to do that they need to go out there and give it their all starting with tonight's matchup.

The Portland Trail Blazers don't have much to play for the rest of the season. They are second to last place in the Western Conference with just 21 wins on the season and are just looking toward next season at this point. They also will be without the majority of their roster when they head out on the road for this Sunday evening matchup with the top-seeded Boston Celtics.

While the Trail Blazers have been downright atrocious on the season, they are still an NBA-level team with a 16-point spread to cover against the best team in the Eastern Conference. Without both Jerami Grant and Anfernee Simons, Scoot Henderson and Deandre Ayton have been the go-to men for the Trail Blazers during their two-game winning streak as they combined for 53 points in their most victory against the Wizards. It will be up to Henderson and Ayton to ignite this offense in an attempt to cover the spread against this Boston Celtics squad.

The Boston Celtics are the team to watch out for as they make their playoff push at the top of the Eastern Conference standings. For the majority of the season now, the Celtics have been the team to beat in the East. They have one of the best teams the East has seen in quite some time.

They are led by MVP candidate Jayson Tatum who averaging a blistering 27.2 ppg to go along with 8.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists. That's now all this Celtics team has, as they have by far the most depth out of any team in the league. With all-stars like Brown, Porizingis, and Holiday mixed in great quality players like Derrick White and Al Horford this team is destined to be great this season.

They take on the Trail Blazers who are just looking forward to next season but they are gritty and will not go down without a fight. The Celtics could be without their two superstars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown who are game decisions. However, this Celtics team is so deep that even without their top-2 stars they can still get the job done.

The Portland Trail Blazers have some uphill sledding ahead of them going against the top-seeded Boston Celtics. The Trail Blazers are 2-8 in their last 10 games but they are 6-4 ATS as well, covering their last three games.

While it isn't for the faint at heart to lay 16 points, it is recommended here when the team you're laying points with is the Boston Celtics.
