Best NRFI Bets Today

We're set to wrap up a huge weekend of play in the major leagues, and there's no better way to send it off in style than by betting on the NRFI -- No Runs in the First Inning.

We'll be heading to Philly to take a look at Sunday Night Baseball, but prior to that I'm seeing some spots to play this one in Chicago as well as out in California.

Let's check out some of the most profitable NRFI spots and get deeper into the slate, handing out MLB NRFI predictions for Sunday, September 1.

MLB NRFI Betting Prediction for Mets vs White Sox

The Mets continue to alter their lineup from game to game, but it would seem at the moment that facing a lefty is going to be a potential problem for them atop the order. Brandon Nimmo is at a platoon disadvantage, and as Jesse Winker sits in the weak side of the platoon they'll now be without one of their biggest bats.

Enter, Garrett Crochet, who has continued to dominate after a slight hiccup in August with a 3.38 ERA across his last two outings.

• Crochet may not be wearing deep into games, but that won't matter to us here in targeting the first inning.
• The lefty now owns a stellar 23-4 record to the NRFI this year and will look to make it four in a row against a New York side which has been a brilliant 83-53 to the NRFI.

Sean Manaea will help us out a bit here, too, pitching to a White Sox team which is 76-61 to the NRFI. He's also thrown a scoreless first in three straight and stands a brilliant 22-4 to the NRFI this year.

Chicago continues to slump with a 59 wRC+ in the last week and with a bunch of important left-handed bats atop the lineup should struggle here.

MLB NRFI Betting Prediction for Mariners vs Angels

I'm a huge fan of Caden Dana. The youngster will take the ball for his major-league debut on Sunday, and the matchup couldn't be any better.

• After tearing through Double-A hitting with a tantalizing strikeout rate and stamina which has led him to some complete games, he should be more than capable of picking apart the guiltiest strikeout team in the league in the Mariners.
• Seattle has helped bettors to a 79-57 NRFI record this season, and while most of that success has come at home I think the iron is hot with Dana and I recommend striking before the market figures it out.

As for L.A.'s offense, Nolan Schanuel has begun to cool down towards the top of the order with an OPS under .500 in the last week of play and while Taylor Ward has been hot that's about all Bryce Miller will have to deal with.

• Miller's run out to a 22-4 NRFI record this year, so while his surface-level numbers haven't been the greatest he should be more than enough here against a lowly Angels offense.

I'll back Dana to get us going here and I expect the price on his NRFI bets this month to increase.

NRFI Betting Prediction: Mariners vs Angels NRFI (-115 at FanDuel)

MLB NRFI Betting Prediction for Braves vs Phillies

Aaron Nola hasn't had the best season in the world, particularly against the Braves, but he did his the NRFI against Atlanta last time out and I think he'll have a good chance to do it again.

• Atlanta is missing several key bats like Austin Riley and Ozzie Albies, and most of its limited success in the last week has come later in the order.

Nola stands at 21-6 to the NRFI this season with a run of three straight, while Spencer Schwellenbach continues to establish himself as one of the best pitchers in the NL with a brilliant 13-2 NRFI record.

Expect a slow start here.
