UFC 303 Best Bets and Predictions Today Jun 29

Ian Garry Vs Michael Page Betting Odds and Prediction

Best Odds: Ian Garry (-150) BetMGM Sportsbook

Ian Garry has been on a roll ever since stepping foot inside the Octagon and he's now won all seven fights with the promotion. His most recent win was a split decision victory against Geoff Neal at UFC 298 which was his closest fight to date fighting for the UFC.

Now, Garry gets to put his undefeated record on the line against his toughest competitor to date Michael "Venom" Page. The former Bellator welterweight contender is not an easy task for Garry but he's willing to put his ranking on the line as he continues his rise to a welterweight title shot.

In this matchup, we should expect a striking heavy affair from both corners. Garry does his best work when he's pushing the pace being the aggressor, utilizing his length with his kicks to keep his opponents at the end of his strikes.

Against someone like Page, it's going to be a bit more difficult because of his karate-based style of striking.

Garry is going to need to lean on the heavy leg kicks and destroy the base of Page to hinder his movement as leans heavily on his lead leg. By doing this it takes away from Page being able to dart in and out of range to land his strikes.

  • From there, Garry can then land his straight punches and his kicks at range picking Page apart.

It's going to be a tall task for Garry but it's certainly a matchup that can come through with the win as long he comes out there with urgency and looking to put it on Page as soon as the fight starts. If he can overwhelm Page with volume he should be able to take the fight on the judge's scorecards.

Jiri Prochazka Vs Alex Pereira Betting Odds and Prediction

Best Odds: Jiri Prochazka (+135) Caesars Sportsbook

Jiri Prochazka became the undisputed light heavyweight champion when he was able to defeat Glover Texeira who's Alex Pereira's head coach and good friend. During that victory against Teixeira, Pereira was in Teixeira's corner as he lost by submission in the 5th round.

However, Prochazka had to relinquish his title after suffering an injury that was going to keep him out of competition for a while. He was then able to get his chance to right the ship after getting healthy to face off against Alex Pereira to win back his undisputed title only to get knocked out in brutal fashion.

Prochazka did the right thing and got back in there at UFC 300 and knocked out Aleksandr Rakic to reclaim the top spot in the division to fight for the title.

Now, after the cancelation of the previously announced main event between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler, he gets his second shot to reclaim his undisputed title.

In this rematch, the awkwardness and the unpredictability of Prochazka will be key in this fight much like it was in the first one. Pereira had a tough time figuring out the timing of Prochazka and he was able to land a ton of shots on Pereira that others just weren't able to do.

  • Also, Prochazka's grappling gives him a huge advantage on the mat if he can navigate through the length and the power of Pereira to get inside the clinch. From there his grappling should shine as it did in their first fight.

It's up to Prochazka to do a better job at checking the leg kicks of Pereira and keep putting the pressure on Pereira making him fight off of his back foot.

If he can pressure Pereira and make him go backward that will negate a lot of his attacks and from there he can land his own devastating shots, land takedowns, and possibly get him out of there midway through this fight.

Brian Ortega Vs Diego Lopes

Best Odds: Brian Ortega (+125) Bet365 Sportsbook

Brian Ortega stepped up when the UFC needed him the most to make the most of a bad situation as he helped save UFC 303 when he takes on the surging Diego Lopes. Ortega is coming off one of the best performances of his UFC career when he submitted Yair Rodriguez in round three via an arm triangle choke.

Ortega will look to do one better by haunting the hype train of Diego Lopes who the UFC is trying to push and who the fans adore. The submission specialist will have his work cut out for him going against a younger version of himself.

Lopes is a submission specialist like Ortega with 12 of his 24 wins coming by submission but he is equally as dangerous on the feet with 10 of those wins coming by knockout.

  • While this is certainly a dangerous fight for Ortega to take on such short notice it's not one that isn't winnable for him.

Ortega has only faced the best of the best in the featherweight division and while Lopes is as dangerous as they come he has yet to prove anything during his four fights inside the Octagon.

  • With Ortega's experience against the highest level of competitors, he's going to need to utilize that in this matchup by dragging this fight into deep waters.

Lopes has seen the second round just once in his short-notice UFC debut and he had a tough time when the fight left round one as he is super explosive in the opening five minutes. It's up to Ortega to weather that early storm much like he's done on numerous occasions and that's when he can start to take over in the later rounds.

Lopes has the power advantage on the feet but his recklessness leaves openings that someone who's as skilled as Ortega can take full advantage of in this fight.

  • As long as Ortega doesn't get steamrolled in the opening minutes he has the chance to take this fight longer it goes to extend his winning streak to two in a row on Saturday night.
