The UFC is looking to put on an exciting fight card for the UK fans with UFC 304 this Saturday, July 27th at the new Co-Op Arena in Manchester, England.
In the featured bout on the main card, we have the hometown favorite Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett taking on King Green in a highly anticipated lightweight matchup.
Green is looking to spoil the party of the homecoming of Paddy Pimblett as he comes into this fight after a beatdown of UFC veteran Jim Miller at UFC 300.
Paddy Pimblett has yet to lose in his UFC career winning all 5 of his fights inside the Octagon and he will be coming into this fight looking to put on a show for his fans and get into the top-15 rankings in the lightweight division when he takes on his toughest test to date King Green.
With that said, we take a look at this main event fight and give out our prediction and pick for this Paddy-Green matchup.
Paddy Pimblett (21-3)?made a name for himself as the brash and outspoken fighter out of Liverpool and became a fan favorite over in the UK's top regional promotion Cage Warriors competing in both their featherweight and lightweight divisions before getting the call to fight in the UFC.
Pimblett is a very well-rounded fighter who can finish his opponents on the feet or on the mat. However, his best chance of winning and remaining unbeaten during his time in the UFC is to take Green to the mat and dominate there.
This certainly will be no easy fight for Pimblett as Green is as well-rounded as they come and is one of the most battle-tested fighters in the lightweight division.
Green is also exceptionally hard to finish so Pimblett will need to go in there to outwork and overwhelm Green to come away victorious in this matchup.
King Green (32-15-1)?is one of the mainstays in the UFC's lightweight division with 25 fights and is the No. 15-ranked lightweight contender in the division.
He is coming off a brutal beatdown of another longtime lightweight competitor Jim Miller at UFC 300 and will be looking to extend his winning streak to two when he takes on the hometown's Paddy Pimblett this weekend.
Green is as game as they come in the lightweight division willing to lay it all out there for the fans and to get his hands raised in the end.
He is at his best when he's pressing the action, coming forward, and throwing his crisp combinations from the hip. He has this hands-down style of boxing that is hard to deal with because his strikes come from odd angles that his opponents can't get a read on.
Green also overwhelms his opponents with his pace and volume which is unmatched in the lightweight division where he has the most strikes landed in the division with 2,072.
It will come down to Green's 74% takedown defense to keep this fight standing where he will then look to punish Pimblett to another KO victory or a one-sided beatdown for a decision victory.
We have a great fight in the lightweight division for the featured bout on the main card between Paddy Pimblett and King Green.
Ultimately, expect this fight to be highly entertaining throughout but it will be the striking of King Green that will be the difference maker as he keeps this fight standing and outstrikes Pimblett on the feet to a decision or a possible late finish.
FINAL PADDY-GREEN PICK & PREDICTION: KING GREEN (-114)
