The UFC is at home in the fight capital of the U.S. Las Vegas, Nevada for another Apex event where we have a stacked night of fights.

Battling it out in the main event is two welterweight contenders Gilbert Burns and Sean Brady who will be looking to push toward a title fight with a win this weekend.

On the prelims, we have a scrap in the men's flyweight division between two surging prospects Andre Lima and Felipe dos Santos.

These two flyweights will be looking to make a statement this weekend and put the flyweight division on notice with that said, let's take a look at the matchup and our Lima-dos Santos prediction and pick.

UFC Vegas 97: Andre Lima Betting Predictions September 7th

Andre Lima (9-0)?secured his contract with a dominant showing on the Contender Series last season and has since won both of his fights inside the Octagon.

Lima had the most bizarre UFC debut where he won the fight due to Disqualification because his opponent bit him mid fight.

• Lima remained unbeaten with that DQ win and his split decision victory against Mitch Raposo at UFC 302.
• In his 9 professional wins 5 of them have come by KO/TKO.

Lima is an exceptional striker that does a great a job at pressing the action with great distance management. His kicks and strikes at distance allow him to land his strikes while avoiding the counters that are thrown his way.

That Muay Thai style of striking is coming to come in handy going against an ultra-aggressive Felipe dos Santos. Dos Santos is dangerous anywhere this fight takes place and Lima will need to be careful to just get into a brawl with him in this fight.

If Lima can just fight his fight at range, he can pick dos Santos apart with his kicks and strikes throughout the fight and get the nod on the scorecards.

UFC Vegas 97: Felipe dos Santos Betting Predictions September 7th

Felipe dos Santos (8-1)?made a name for himself by stepping in on short notice for Kai Kara France to take on Manel Kape at UFC 293 in a back-and-forth affair that he ultimately lost via decision.

Dos Santos was finally able to secure his first win inside the Octagon in his next fight with a highly questionable decision over Victor Altamirano.

• Dos Santos is now 8-1 in his professional career and 1-1 in the UFC.
• Of his 8 wins 5 of them have come inside the distance which is split between 2 KO/TKO and 3 submissions.

Dos Santos is destined to be a contender in the flyweight division and if he fights like he did against Manel Kape he has a bright future.

He is dangerous wherever the fight takes place with the power to land the knockout and the submission skills to snatch a limb or a neck and get the tapout.

In this matchup against the dangerous Andre Lima, dos Santos will need to utilize his length and unpredictability on the feet to keep Lima from just pressing forward.

Once he is within range, dos Santos will need to land his strikes into a takedown and that's where he will have his biggest advantage. As long as dos Santos can mix it up he can potentially catch Lima and extend his winning streak to two in a row.
