In their 55th straight win, Chino Hills made this a no-contest game pretty much from the opening tip. After the first half was over, Chino Hills led 74-39 with the Ball brothers unofficially accounted for 54 of those points. Onyeka Okongwu ignited the crowd with 4 first half dunks and 2 of those were on his defenders. The second half was a bit more of the same with Ian Murphy and Iysaiah Rojas keeping the game fun but Chino Hills was just too far out of reach. Rojas finished with 25 and Murphy with 20. Murphy was having fun dazzling the crowd as the pint sized pg hit a few treys to ignite the crowd in the first half and had the crowd on their feet with some fancy dribbling. LiAngelo Ball finished with an unofficial 62 points while his brother LaMelo finished with 28. Okongwu had to have had a double double with points and blocks. I'll update when I locate his final stats.

Chino Hills Edges Long Beach Poly W/Gelo Ball's 3-Pointer W/6 Secs Left!

Chino Hills had the firepower and Long Beach Poly has the history. Poly did a great job at keeping the pace of the game at their liking instead of falling into the trap of trying to play Chino Hills run n gun style. The game was close throughout and Poly led most of the game but by small margins. The first quarter ended with Poly up 23-19. In the second quarter with 7 minutes to go Dre Ball picked up his 4th foul and with 3:06 Gelo Ball picked up his 3rd foul. The risk of of leaving Gelo in the game was overlooked and Chino Hills left scrappy first half with a 44-43 lead on Melo Ball's Deep 3 seconds before it ended. Elizjah Scott was the difference in keeping the game close throughout as he led all scorers after the first half with 18 points while the ball brothers combined for 18. For Long Beach Poly it was a team effort as 4 players nearly had double figures in the first half wih Z. Williams leading with 12. In the second half Chino Hills caught fire and pulled ahead by 5 points before Poly played sound defense and hit big shots. At one point Melo Ball came down and hit a 3 pointer only to have Poly come down and match it. With the game tied 75 all Elizjah Scott got an offensive rebound and found Gelo Ball in the corner. Ball buried the 3-Pointer and Poly's coaches were calling for a travel on the rebound. Upon looking at the footage afterwards, it was clear HC Diggs had a valid point. A last second heave by Poly fell short and Chino Hills won the BattleZone Championship. Melo Ball was named the MVP.

Foothills Christian started out hot with a 12-0 run led by 4 three point baskets. Chino Hills did not get a basket until about 4 minutes into the first quarter by LaMelo Ball. At the end of the first half Foothills Christian led Chino Hills 42-36 led by Jaylen Hands 15 and teammate Van Ommering's 11. LaMelo Ball had 16 first half points while his brother LiAngelo Ball had 14. LaMelo and Hands Dazzled the crowd in the second half by going back and forth at one another. Ball hit a few NBA range 3-point baskets while Hands used his quickness and body control to draw fouls and score inside. The 2 combined for 69 points as LaMelo Finished with 38 points and Hands with 31. Brother LiAngelo Ball is just 2 days off a 72 point game and finished with a cool 28 as Chino Hills went on to win 90-73 in what was a very competitive game up until the last couple minutes.

Chino Hills will go on to play in the Championship game tomorrow at Corona Centennial High School @7.30pm
