Boogie is not only a huge upgrade (that's a huge understatement) over new Laker JaVale McGee and still "clumsy" Zaza Pachulia, the All-NBA center also gives the biggest three-point threat in NBA history another 3-point option. Over the past two seasons, the "Third Splash Brother (as Steph Curry would say)" averaged 2.1 threes a game and had more games with 5+ three-pointers (9) than any other center; Brook Lopez is second with 6, Marc Gasol has 4 and Channing Frye has 3. Frye is also the only center in NBA history with more 5+ threes games than Boogie.

And here's 10 minutes of Boogie knocking down threes, followed by a video of Charles Barkley (who doesn't like Boogie) and Shaq saying they want Boogie to stop shooting so many threes. Sorry Chuck and Shaq, the only thing that's going to stop Boogie from shooting is when he gets ejected or takes an early seat because the Warriors are blowing out the other team.

The red hot Pelicans were just seconds away from celebrating a victory against the Rockets when disaster struck. After missing a free throw, DeMarcus Cousins hustled for an offensive bound and ended up tearing his Achilles. The noncontact injury will shut the All-Star starter down for the rest of the season, which has been a spectacular one for Boogie, who had a triple-double (15/13/11) for the second time in three games.

"Just unfortunate, really. I think we've been doing really well, got in a great groove," Said teammate Jrue Holiday. "The way we've been playing, and him in particular, has been awesome."

Friday night was a good night for the old folks like me. We got to see 40-year old Manu Ginobili end the Celtics win streak with the 1,000th game-winner of his career. We got to see 40-year old Vinsanity slip in a dunk on Anthony Davis after a buzzer. And we got to watch 36-year-old Portland Jailblazer alum Zach Randolph bring out the Z-Bo with another amusing moment with Boogie Cousins.

"Where I'm from bullies get bullied. In my hood bullies get bullets,” Randolph said (I think) to Cousins late in the fourth quarter after the two headband warriors did some hand slapping and yapping at each other.

Randolph finished the game with a season-high 35 points (14-22 FG), 13 boards and a career-high five threes in the 116-109 victory. Cousins was once again exceptional and showing why he's the best big man in the NBA, scoring 38 points, grabbing 11 boards, knocking down four threes and a little of this and that....let's get to the fun stuff.

Back in 2015, when Cousins was with the Kings and Randolph was a member of the Grit and Grind Grizzlies, the two had a pretty heated game with chair kicking, techs, some chest-bumping and a couple of elbows to Cousins' face.

My favorite moment between these two was a more lighthearted one from last season. After a time-out was called, Cousins and Randolph played one-on-one for about six seconds after the whistle.

Along with John Calipari's summer camps, Friday's UK Alumni Charity Game raised over a million dollars, including $150,000 for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. It was also another platform for Karl-Antnony Towns, who wrote a column about racism on The Players' Tribune, to make a statement about social issues by wearing "Love trumps hate" and a crossed-out "Racism" on his sneakers.

"I think everyone thinks we're athletes so our intellectual capacity is not enough to understand topics or we're not capable to fully explain feelings, what you feel about the topics," Towns said after the game. "But that's not true. A lot of us athletes, a lot of us are well educated. A lot of us have a spot in our heart that we feel like we try to get knowledge from people, tell people how we feel. There's nothing wrong or soft about letting people know how you feel."

Towns finished the game with a game-high 33 points on 16 of 18 shooting. Rajon Rondo had 13 points, 8 boards and 7 crowd-pleasing assists -- the best was an off-the-head alley-oop to Eric Bledsoe. Other players included Boogie Cousins, Jamal Murray, Jamaal Magloire, Tony Delk and Terrence Jones.

As an extra treat for Kentucky fans, a Legends game was also played that featured NCAA legend Jack "Goose" Givens, 7'3 Shagari Alleyne, Rex Chapman and Kenny "Sky" Walker. Bobby Perry led all scorers with 17.

If you watched the Team World vs Team Africa exhibition game on Saturday, you might have noticed a slimmer looking DeMarcus Cousins than the one you saw at the end of his disappointing non-playoff season with the Pelicans. After putting up 9 points, 10 boards and 4 steals in 16 minutes, the Pelicans center told ESPN's Marc J. Spears this is "probably the best I have felt my whole career."

He also told Spears via The Undfefeated the weight loss is a result of a new strict diet and workout regimen he's been following in Los Angeles this summer.

“I just try to improve every season in some type of way. This was another area I thought I could improve in,” Cousins said.

How much does Cousins weigh now?

“I don’t know. I really don’t know,” Cousins said. “I lost a lot of weight. I did my little training program in L.A. and I like the results. I’m good. I feel lighter on my feet. I’m moving a lot better than I have in previous years. It doesn’t hurt to wake up in the morning and the aches and pains have kind of gone away. It’s definitely benefited my body a lot more.”

During a conference call on Thursday, Boogie talked about why it was so important for him to shed some pounds.

"Every offseason I try to work on something to better my game," Cousins said Via Nola.com. "I really wanted to focus on my body this summer. I kind of let myself go in the second half of the season last year. I got in a place where I didn't really want to be.

"Just being able to move easier," Cousins said was the biggest effect of his weight loss. "Less stress on your joints and your knees and your feet. And also just being able to keep up with the pace at all times. The game has changed in this so-called 'small-ball era.'

This is the second summer in a row Boogie has lost weight. According to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, Cousins went from a shocking?308 pounds to 275 in preparation for his 2016 Olympic debut .

“He’s gotten in unbelievable shape for this,” Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski said. “He wants to be here and he wants to represent his country, and I’m proud of the progress he’s made.”

According to the SacBee, much of the weight loss can be contributed to 2?1/2?months dedicated to yoga, Pilates and weights in heated rooms.

“I feel great,” Cousins said afterward. “It’s just that feeling of your body detoxing every workout, so that’s one thing. I feel a lot lighter on my feet. Of course I’ve slimmed down. I’m a lot more flexible, a lot more mobile, so it’s all coming together for me.”

WEIGHT CHANGE OVER THE YEARS

Google currently has the 26-year old All-Star listed at 6'11 and 269 pounds. If?he is in fact less than that weight, then he's back to his high school weight between his junior and season season. ESPN listed him at 6'10, 235 pounds during his junior season in 2007 and Max Preps had him at 270 by the end of his high school career. ?If these numbers are accurate then Boogie has gained as much as 73 pounds over the past decade.

TMZ caught up with DeMarcus Cousins and asked him about Westbrook's historic season and top NBA prospects. No surprise, Boogie said he "fucks with Russell" and his top prospects were all Kentucky players, including De'Aaron Fox, who watched his stock rise after dropping 39 points on Lonzo Ball and UCLA.

When Boogie was asked about Ball, he replied, "Never heard of him." But when asked about his Dad, Boogie called him a "legend."

I'm sure most wouldn't but I would pay money to watch a shouting match between Boogie and LaVar Ball during a game. I'm assuming Boogie wouldn't let him off easy like he did OSN last month.

On Friday night, DeMarcus Cousins outscored and rebounded Marc Gasol 22/9 to 20/6 and helped the Kings beat the red-hot Grizzlies (winners of 7 of their last 8) 96-92. That's worth some positive praise. Unfortunately, the only news to come out about the Kings and Boogie on this night is a video from earlier in the week of Cousins cursing out local Sacramento Bee columnist Andy Furillo.

“We’re going to have some real f***ing issues. Don’t ever mention my brother again.” Yelled a finger-pointing Cousins at Furillo, who according to the SacBee has had his share of scares, from getting shot while covering the LA riots to having his life threatened while covering local criminals. "You don't know my motherf***king brother."

This was the first time Cousins has seen Furillo since the writer wrote an article about Cousins involvement in a New York club fight earlier in the month. In his article, he writes Cousins and Barnes should find "better places to hang out." He also, for context, references Cousins' younger brother getting arrested for his involvement in a bar fight earlier in the year.

"You say whatever the f** you want about me but don't mention my motherf***ing family." Cousins continued during his tirade against Furillo.

This might be news to a lot of people but this type of postgame behavior has reportedly happened many times in the past with the local media.

When a celebrity says their social media account has been "hacked," there's a 99.9% chance they are lying and only posted the excuse out of panic and/or to buy some time. So when Draymond Green tweeted "Hacked...Can't win right now" early Sunday morning, in response to him accidentally publishing a penis pic to his Snaphchat story, we all just shook our head and laughed because we knew the active Snaphchat expert was lying.

Hours later, Green, who continues to have his summer dominated by penis stories, told the truth to reporters at the Team USA practice and gave one impressive sounding apology.

"There's so many things going on in my world for me to sit and complain [that] I can't catch a break," Green said.

"For me to sit here [and say] I can't catch a break [for getting] suspended for a game in the Finals or I can't catch a break for this situation, I'm living my dreams, I'm playing in the Olympics.

"To say I can't catch a break, I think that's disrespectful for everybody. How many people get to live their dreams? I'm not going to sit here and throw myself a pity party and say I can't catch a break. I'm fine. I get to joke around with these guys all day and get to do what I love for my country. I'm fine. I'm fine."

"I didn't get a call [about the Snapchat post]. I figured it out pretty quick," he said. "In this world, quick ain't quick enough. Once it's out, it's out. I thought I reacted pretty quick. I saw those screen shots and quick ain't quick enough in this world."

"This is what I asked for, though," Green said. "I asked to be in this position; I worked to be in this position, and it comes with the territory.

"I truly believe we all go through points in our life that help propel us to the next level. I'm at the stage right now where all this stuff will help propel me to the next level as a basketball player, but more importantly as a man. I don't live my life with regrets. I apologize for the situation. It's clearly not what I was trying to do. At the end of the day you have certain situations in your life that just help push you forward, and you have to use them the right way."

You couldn't ask for a better apology than that. Green admitted his mistake, how lucky he is to be in the position he's in, understands the attention that comes with having that position and hopes to do and be better from his mistakes.

Breaking and shocking news: DeMarcus Cousins doesn't agree with Coach George Karl.  I'm assuming you know that. And after the Kings destroyed the Mavs on Sunday, Cousins interrupted a postgame interview with new starter Seth Curry, fresh off of scoring 14 points, and said, "You going to be in this league a long time boy. Remember that, a long time!"

The comment by Boogie is most likely a reference to George Karl recently saying Curry is "going to be around for a couple of years. He's definitely going to have a few more years of someone; I think we have him for one more year."

Due to a bunch of Kings' injuries, Karl has given Curry 20+ minutes in the past two Kings games - both wins - and he's responded with 12 and 14 points. In the other 2 games of 20+ minutes in the past 2 months, Curry had 11 and 19 points.

"I think he's going to have a bright future, hard worker, never gets down on himself, he's a confident player." Said Boogie after Friday's win. "The biggest thing is he's a hard worker so I think he'll always have a spot in this league."

Rondo also had some positive things to say about Curry.

"Seth is a hard worker, hard work always pays off. He's definitely a ... shooter, he can pass the ball, he can do a lot of things. He had a couple tear drops that was nice tonight as well so sky's the limit for Seth. He's young and like I said, the way he works you never know what he can do."

During the 4th quarter of the Kings win over the Raptors on Sunday, DeMarcus Cousins threw down a big dunk that DeMar DeRozan wanted nothing to do with. If you were watching the game on the Kings broadcast then you got to hear the Kings play by play announcer, Grant Napear, say "if you don't like that, you don't like NBA basketball!"

I did like the dunk and I do like NBA basketball but sometimes I just want to yell STFU at Grant for saying it every single game! ?Then I think how cool it is that he's been saying it for 27 years (2 years longer than Cousins has been alive) with the same great organization. I then thought about other announcers I love, like Kevin Harlan, legends like Marv Albert and the late great Chick Hearn. Then I thought about how unappreciated play by play announcers are - yes, even Tommy Heinsohn when he's going off on LeBron - and how important they are to?not only?being the voice of the NBA but being the voice of NBA history and many of the it's greatest moments.

I then told myself to STFU after telling Grant to STFU. With that said, hearing him say his trademark quote when it's against one of my favorite teams is like hearing nails on a chalkboard.

Oh well, I guess I can deal with it. Thanks Grant for being part of the reason why I like NBA basketball.

DeMarcus Cousins wasn't able to score 91 and Eric Bledsoe didn't match the 85 he scored in his first annual Back-To-School Rally Charity Game last month, but the two Kentucky alums did put on a show - which included hanging on the rim together - this weekend in the annual Kentucky vs UNC Alumni Charity Game.

The Wildcats, coached by Anthony Davis, won the game 122-115 behind 33 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 3-pointers (all in the first half) from Cousins.

“He’s the best,” Calipari said of Boogie making 5 of the team's 17 3-pointers. “He was trying to show me that I should’ve let him (shoot more).”

"I thought I was shooting 2s" said Cousins after the game.

UNC (is that Jerry Stackhouse?!) was led by NBA champion Harrison Barnes who scored a game-high 39.

“(Cousins) was like, ‘Man, y’all really trying to win out here?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, but you didn’t give us a shot,’ ” Barnes said. “We were kind of just joking – they’re like, ‘We got all these draft picks’ but I said, ‘Yeah, but the World Championship has been with the Tar Heels the last two years.’ ”

But the most important numbers from the game are the amounts in dollars it raised for multiple charities.

Through the alumni game and Calipari’s fantasy camp over the weekend, about $1.1 million was donated to 17 different causes: 4 Paws for Ability, the Starkey Hearing Foundation, Kids 2 Camp, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Equip (John Maxwell Group), Golden Door Scholars, CISE, Stand Up to Cancer, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Louisville Zoo, Alltech Sustainable Haiti Project, United Way of Central Kentucky, UNC Children’s Hospital and Samaritans Feet.

Included in that total was a $200,000 donation to start a legacy fund at the Naismith Hall of Fame in memory of former Tar Heels coach Dean Smith. As Calipari announced that gift, he asked his fans to thank Barnes, who was responsible for getting the UNC team together. The crowd complied.

After two days of just looking at a photo of DeMarcus Cousins posing with Baby LeBron, I was beginning to think we were never going to see video footage of Boogie scoring 91 points at Eric Bledsoe's first annual Back-to-School Rally.

At most games like this, there's tons of poor quality and vertically shot clips being uploaded to Instagram and vine by attendees before the game is even over with, but this game was treated like a Nike event with LeBron getting dunked on by a high school kid (what's up Jordan Crawford). It just made no sense to me in 2015, how a bunch of pro players could put up crazy numbers (Eric Bledsoe had 85) and highlights (KJ McDaniels and Baby LeBron were in it) and nobody in a packed gym had any highlights to share. With that said, I actually wish people would stop releasing crappy phone vids on social media sites during live events so we can all just enjoy a couple of high quality recap youtube vids later...but I know that's not happening.

Thankfully Live Prep Nation did record the game and caught all of Boogie's off the backboard dunks, crossovers and deep 3-pointers as well as highlights from Trevor Lacey, Brandon Peterson, Kristen Lee, Ed Daniels, Rod Grizzard, Christian Waterford and Baby LeBron and distributed the quality mix on YouTube for us to enjoy and share.

Now we just need 1962 footage of Wilt scoring 100 and 2013 footage of Zach Randolph scoring 89 at a local YMCA pool.

With Tim Duncan out, DeMarcus Cousins was filling up every category on the stat sheet against the Spurs. His 32 points on 12 of 14 from the field and 8 of 13 from the line looked great next to 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and a block but he also had 10 turnovers and 5 fouls in the 7 point loss.

You could say Cousins tried to do it all - even guarding Tony Parker but the keyword is try.

DeMarcus Cousins may not want his teammate to shake hands with Clippers and he may do and say things here and there that puts him on the naughty list for a lot of people but for a 100+ kids that come from low-income households in Sacramento, Cousins is a real life Santa that was generous enough to take them on a shopping spree at Wal-Mart.   The kids had $150 to spend on clothes, toys and games and Wells Fargo bank gave each family a $50 gift card for necessities.

Cousins is just one of many athletes that's been doing generous acts like this in the past few days.  It's always great to see but it's a big bonus when you get to see a personality like Cousins doing while wearing a Santa outfit and Jordans and saying "he doesn't know how to ride a bike."

Earlier in the week after a heartbreaking loss to the Clippers, the Kings' DeMarcus Cousins prevented teammate Isaiah Thomas from shaking hands with Chris Paul as they walked off the court.  During last night's OT thriller rematch,  the Clippers were once again victorious and when JJ Redick extended a hand to DeMarcus, Cousins gave him a FU look that is sure to turn into viral gold.  The only thing better than Cousins' expression was the one JJ had in return. 

Unfortunately for Redick, besides the cold shoulder, he also suffered a painful looking wrist injury during the game when he and Cousins collided going for a rebound. Redick still finished the game with 13 points in 17 minutes.
