The 2021 NBA Draft (July 29) is rapidly approaching and as all the draft day scenarios begin to play out, we wanted to take a look at six prospects we feel are going to be steals in this year's draft and six we feel will are the biggest risk-reward players. Will they pan out?

This year's NBA Draft is supposed to field one of the deepest crop of impact players in recent memory. Which teams will make the right decisions in the lottery? Make sure to check out our special NBA Draft "In The Paint" podcast , Devin Ugland's NBA Draft Board watch our second annual Ballislife NBA Draft Party on July 29 at 6:15 pm ET/3:15 PT to get our insight before the draft and as the top picks unfold.

Devin Ugland's NBA Draft Day Steals

Jared Butler, Baylor (Junior), 6-3 PG (Age 20)
Projected Pick: No. 30
Butler proved that not only could he improve individually over the course of his college career, but that he also impacts winning in high level games as he led the Bears to the 2021 NCAA Tournament title. Butler is a heady and smart lead guard who can play both on or off the ball. In his final season at Baylor, Butler shot 41.6 percent from three-point range and just over 47 percent from the field overall. Guys like Butler. who are drafted to a good team late in the first round, usually end up in a good situation where they can ease into the NBA game in a back-up style role.  I'm confident Butler has the intangibles, leadership and shot making ability to be a long-term NBA guard.

Quentin Grimes, Houston (Junior), 6-5 CG (Age 21)
Projected Pick: No. 32
Though we have Grimes slotted as an early second round pick, I can see a few teams picking in the late first round who could use his services. Grimes got off to a bit of a rocky start to his college career at Kansas before transferring to Houston where he put up numbers consistent with his Top 10 ranking coming out of high school. I like Grimes to be a draft steal because he has an NBA body, showed poise in big game situations and shooting and playmaking at his size should translate well to the pro game. Something else that stands out about Grimes is the success he had after leaving Kansas with some labeling his a "bust."

Kessler Edwards, Pepperdine (Junior), 6-8 SF (Age 21)
Projected Pick: No. 44
Edwards is one of the more unheralded prospects in this draft - both when he was coming out of high school and now coming out of college. The 6-foot-8 swingman has a ton of versatility to his game due to his combination of length, fluid athleticism and lateral mobility on the defensive end of the floor. Edwards averaged 17.2 points per game as a junior on 55.3 percent from the field, 37.8 percent from three and hit 87.6 percent of his free throws. Those are solid percentages for an inside-out type of scorer who prefers to operate in the mid-range area of the floor. NBA teams might have to be patient with his three-point shooting stroke as he gets used to the deeper line.

Ronnie Flores' NBA Draft Day Steals

Cam Thomas, LSU (Freshman), 6-4 SG (Age 19)
Projected Pick: No. 16

This former Oak Hill Academy (VA) standout is one of the most accomplished scorers in the draft at any pick.  Any questions about being a shoot-first, volume player at his draft position will quickly be quelled by his talent level and ability to adjust and find the right role that will maximize his potential. LSU had bouts of selfishness across the board and I think he’ll excel down the line because of his innate ability to score and draw fouls.

Miles McBride, West Virginia (Sophomore), 6-2 PG (Age 20)
Projected Pick: No. 29

I like winners and tough guards and "Deuce" foots the bill. He was way better in HS than the recruiting evaluators gave him credit for coming out of Moeller (Cincinnati, Ohio), where he was a key cog on a FAB 50 ranked team. He led teams that won back-to-back D1 states titles, had a 49-game winning streak and went 29-0 his senior year. That type of production (not to mention defense) from a team standpoint translates. In two college seasons, McBride became a viable NBA prospect by improving his shooting (shot .414 from 3-point range in 2020-21) and increasing his play-making while his turnover count remained low. Obviously size will come into play for some teams with regards to where he lands, but whom ever needs a quality back up better take a long, hard look because he makes up for his lack of size with terrific on-ball defense, athleticism, instincts and a winner's mentality.

John Petty Jr., Alabama (Senior), 6-5 SF (Age 22)
Projected Pick: No. 58

If Petty can display solid enough ball-handling, I think he can stick in the NBA. He’s always been a good shooter (.370 3-point) and can get the ball up against good defenders. He has the ability to get hot and played with other talented scorers on a balanced Alabama team and should have no trouble being productive in what would be limited minutes if he makes a roster down the line. If Petty improves on the nuances of the game, he can be a complete steal late in this draft. I like reliability in the range he's may get drafted at instead of taking a big gamble on a project.

Devin's Draft Day Enigmas

Corey Kispert, Gonzaga (Senior), 6-7 G/F (Age 22)
Projected Pick: No. 11
It's always risky when you take a specialist-type prospect with a lottery pick and Kispert is absolutely one of the best shooters in the draft. The questions with Kispert are: what else does he do well that translates to the NBA? Can he guard and rebound his position well enough to see extended minutes? At age 22 with four years of college under his belt, what type of upside is there for him? I think Kispert is valued so highly because NBA teams are putting an emphasis on players who can spread the floor with limited dribbles, and while I think Kispert would be a safe pick in the mid to late first round range, taking him in the middle to the end of the lottery could be a risky decision.

Sharife Cooper, Auburn (Freshman), 6-0 PG (Age 20)
Projected Pick: No. 19
Cooper is an enigma in two different ways: I think there's a chance he could out-play his draft position (if selected around this projected range) or a guy who doesn't quite live up to the expectations of a first round selection. Cooper is an extremely talented ball handler who has great feel for the game and possesses the passing instincts necessary to play the PG spot in the NBA. There are, however, questions about his size, burst in transition and with his first step, and his lackluster three-point shooting percentage from the college line (22.8 percent) in 12 games. I don't see Cooper slipping out of the first round, but there are some shortcomings that could make NBA front offices second guess picking him.

Ziaire Williams, Stanford (Freshman), 6-8 SF (Age 19)
Projected Pick: No. 20
Williams has shown flashes of having all the tools to become a solid NBA wing, but his up-and-down season at Stanford cooled his draft stock after many believed he was a surefire lottery pick heading into the 2020-21 college basketball season. The 6-foot-8 wing averaged just 10.7 points per game in 20 games for the Cardinal and shot 37.4 percent from the field and 29.1 percent from 3-point range. In addition to those poor shooting numbers, Williams had a streak to close the season where he scored in single digits in five of his last seven games, a stretch where Stanford went 2-5.

Ronnie's Draft Day Enigmas

Jonathan Kuminga, G League Ignite (1st Year Pro), 6-8 SF (Age 18)
Projected Pick: No. 6

Evaluating some of the G League Ignite games, Kuminga's skill and production level simply didn’t indicate a top 4-5 pick to me. Does he have loads of potential? Absolutely, plus he's a bit younger than a majority of the other prospects at the top of this draft. He also has the frame and explosiveness many NBA GMs cost. However, he shoots a low percentage (38.7 FG, 24.6 3-point, 62.5 FT), needs tons of work on what to do without the ball and his decision making left alot to be desired in those G League games. He does have plenty of potential, but not much experience even dominating at the high school level. Will that potential blossom? There’s would be a lot less pressure for him going at No. 6 through 8 than No. 3 or No. 4. The lower he goes, the more I like his chances for long-term success.

Scottie Barnes, Florida St. (Freshman), 6-9 SF (Age 19)
Projected Pick: No. 5

How do you pass on a guy who does so much well? And how do you NOT pass on a guy that simply can’t shoot it well enough for his on court and draft position (27.5 3-point, 62.1 FT)? You do because he can improve his shooting and the other things he excels at (leading, defense, play-making) most of the other draftees simply are not as capable and likely won’t ever be, no mater how much they work on it. I feel Barnes will be a good pro, but if he doesn't pan out at the production level of the pick where he's expected to go (No. 4-5), a GM will be kicking himself in the foot for overlooking the obvious.

Jalen Johnson, Duke (Freshman), 6-9 PF (Age 19)
Projected Pick: No. 14

Will he buy in and be committed to the team that drafts him, or will he excel only in a situation for a team that covets his talents and will be patient with his development? We ask that because he Johnson has one of the biggest draft ranges of any eligible prospect. To me, he has lottery type talent and the make-up of a starting caliber NBA forward, but I also wouldn't be surprised to see him drop to the slot Dev currently has him listed at. There is alot of talent to work with, but not a big body of work. He didn’t have a complete senior high school season (he abruptly left IMG Academy early in the 2019-20 season) nor a complete college season (as he exited the program in a highly-publicized manner). Why is that? What will NBA teams find out when they dig deep on those incidents? Players have to be more talented than their perceived problems and it only takes one team with the right fit to unlock the best version of a talented prospect.

The post COVID-19’s Impact on Travel Ball, 2020-21 Season appeared first on www.ebooksnet.com.

]]>
Coronavirus pandemic halts summer NCAA live period events, affects recruiting for 2021 class, and all but certainly means altered high school season.

The Coronavirus pandemic has affected every aspect of American life and high school and college basketball are no different. Coronavirus became a full-blown pandemic in March and sports changed forever when the NBA shut down its 2019-2020 season on March 11.

Game stoppages reached the high school ranks and only four states where able to complete their state tournaments thereafter: Iowa, Louisiana, Nebraska and New Mexico. In all, 37 of the 50 teams that made the cut in the final 2019-20 FAB 50 National Rankings had their seasons affected by COVID-19.

COVID-19 will certainly affect all levels of basketball until a vaccine is widely available.

No Summer NCAA Live Period

Most elites in the 2020 class had already made their college choices by the time the Pandemic affected games and ultimately canceled the 2020 NCAA tournament. There was no spring NCAA Live Viewing period and ultimately the NCAA extended its dead period through August 31. That means no sanctioned grassroots basketball events for college coaches to attend and no college campus visits for prospects. With COVID-19 cases surging, the college coaches we talked to are not overly optimistic there will be live evaluation periods the rest of 2020. Colleges are worried about the risks associated with staff travel to and from events, especially plane travel. There is also the issue of fairness among member institutions if some can attend multiple events nearby, while others in more remote locations have to travel far distances to evaluate during these times. Legal liability issues with a coach potentially catching COVID-19 on the road or the risks of carrying Coronavirus back to campus is not something NCAA member institutions want to take on.

There have been some summer leagues and “dead period” events available on streaming services, and a handful of prospects have made a positive impression. Only a handful of 2021 prospects have been able to participate in such events so far, as the pandemic is greatly affecting the 2021 class. It also had an effect on the 2020 players hoping to find a scholarship late in the 2019-20 season because many colleges chose to wait and see what talent would be available in the robust NCAA transfer portal. Coaches would rather take proven college talent over taking a chance on a fringe D1 prospect, especially since many transfers will request hardship waivers to waive the sit-out period due to the pandemic.

Elites Go Unscathed

Isa Silva
Isa Silva

6'3"   -   PG   -   2021

With the uncertainty surrounding when colleges can evaluate prospects in person, the non-elites in 2021 have certainly been affected. Many high D2-low D1 types needed the summer live eval period to boost their recruiting stock. Without a live period for the foreseeable future, college coaches are relying on streams and their scouting contacts to offer prospects. That means a handful of low and mid-major programs will sign players who likely would have went higher had there been a live period.

Elites still have the scholarship options they had before COVID-19 but the timing of their commitments has changed. More than one elite prospect, including guard Isa Silva of Carmichael (Jesuit, Calif.), told Ballislife they moved up the timing of their commitment because of the uncertain nature of the 2020-21 recruiting calendar. Silva committed to Stanford on April 21.

Altered, Shortened High School Schedules

Talking to coaches of elite high school programs around the country, there’s plenty of uncertainly when it comes to the upcoming season. Many governing bodies and school districts have looked for guidance from local government and the uncertainty surrounding America’s grip on Coronavirus has created frustration for many coaches. As one coach of an elite West Coast power stated, “We just want our association to make a decision. We don’t care what it is, just tell us so we can plan accordingly.”

Others are planning a normal schedule, until told otherwise, but are expecting a shorter than normal season. What we do know is some states will not be playing football in the fall (such as the Virginia High School League), which will in turn affect the basketball season. While not yet official, we have good information some state associations will mandate shortened seasons, with league/conference games only beginning in February or March with a limited playoff schedule likely to exclude state championship events. This means the vast array of national-level holiday tournaments will be severely curtailed. Already the long-running Iolani Prep Classic in Hawaii has cancelled its tournament for 2020 and you can expect other holiday tournaments will have vastly altered schedules, depending on how many schools and independent programs actually begin playing games in November.

Jonathan Kuminga
Jonathan Kuminga

6'8"   -   SF   -   2020

What this means is the high school basketball season will likely be longer than ever, and we'll have to adjust the 2020-21 FAB 50 National Rankings accordingly. We'll likely release our preseason rankings a bit later than usual and they'll run a bit longer, perhaps even into April and May. Even if basketball doesn't begin for some states at the start of the winter season, we'll still only conduct one weekly poll and rank the teams accordingly, even if one team remains at 0-0 for a long time. Obviously the teams that are able to play more games will have a better opportunity to move up in the rankings, but it looks like for a vast majority of programs there will be less games played than would be in a normal season.

Another potential issue with moving back football to 2021 is the logistical nightmare this creates for high schools with regards to referee shortages, available practice facilities and campus administration and safety personnel availability with various sports running simultaneously.

With the uncertainties surrounding the 2020-21 season and shortened schedules, it made the decision for top tier prospects considering a re-class up to 2020 a lot easier. On July 15, Jonathan Kuminga of Patrick School (Elizabeth, N.J.), who some considered the nation’s top 2021 prospect, announced he would bypass this upcoming season, and college, to play in the new G League professional pathway program. The 6-foot-8 forward, who graduated from Patrick School in June, is now the fifth player to bypass college basketball in favor of the new G League team, which will be spearheaded by former NBA player and head coach Brian Shaw.

Emoni Bates
Emoni Bates

6'8"   -   SF   -   2021

Emoni Bates, Ypsilanti (Mich.) Lincoln: It's already a well-known fact that the 6-foot-8 wing is one of the best prospects regardless of class as he was the first sophomore to be named Gatorade National Player of the Year and a first-five selection to our All-American Elite Team. Bates can do it all on the floor from scoring off the bounce in isolation with power dunks to step-back three's and everything in between. What makes Bates standout among his peers is how effortless he makes the game look when the ball is in his hands. The best prospect since LeBron James? Perhaps. Certainly all eyes will be on him over the next two years and beyond.

Jonathan Kuminga
Jonathan Kuminga

6'8"   -   SF   -   2020

Jonathan Kuminga, Hillside (N.J.) The Patrick School: Kuminga belongs on any must-see list because he's always good for a handful of highlights each time he takes the floor. The top-ranked prospect in the 2021 class is both a powerful, explosive and smooth athlete, attributes which make him nearly impossible to guard in the half-court and transition settings. Kuminga has the ball handling ability, quickness and counter-moves in his arsenal to break down a defender in isolation for a paint bucket or a rhythm step-back three-pointer. His strength, next level ready frame and scoring feel should make him one to watch for years to come.

Chet Holmgren, Minneapolis (Minn.) Minnehaha Academy: Holmgren fits the mold of a modern big man to perfection with his combination of size and skill. The 7-foot junior is mobile, has impressive ball skills for his size, can stretch the floor to the three-point line and score down low with his post IQ, soft hands and fundamental footwork. Where Holmgren is a game changer is on the defensive end of the floor. His defensive instincts and timing as a rim protector and shot blocker, to go along with his rebounding and accurate outlet passing, are what translate best to the next levels.

Zion Harmon
Zion Harmon

5'10"   -   PG   -   2021

Zion Harmon, Benton (Ky.) Marshall County: Don't let the 5-foot-10 height fool you, this class of 2021 point guard has all the tools you look for in a floor general with some flash to go along with it. Harmon is a crafty ball-handler who uses changes of speed and direction to get to his spots in both transition and half-court situations. He hits perimeter jumpers with ease, breaks down defenders in isolation with crazy combos and has vision and a passing feel that are off the charts. Harmon has one more year of high school ball to play before he heads to Western Kentucky to play college hoops.

Peyton Watson
Peyton Watson

6'7"   -   SF   -   2021

Peyton Watson, Long Beach (Calif.) Poly: There are few players in the country who have risen the rankings faster or higher than Watson. The 6-foot-7 wing was handed the keys to the Jackrabbits' squad this season and he embraced that challenge all while elevating his game. Watson, a junior small forward, is one of the more versatile players in the 2021 class with his ability to initiate offense as a lead ball-handler or play off the ball with his knack for slashing and scoring or smooth three-point shot. Watson plays with some edge and a chip on his shoulder due to being a guy who was unranked a year ago only to be considered one of the top 10 players in his class right now.

As we launch comprehensive Ballislife player profiles so our followers get to know their favorite players across the country even closer, it provides us the opportunity to dig a bit deeper into players that fall into certain categories everyone can understand. There really is no better play in all of basketball than a vicious dunk, and luckily for us, we're living through a period of the sport which features insane and creative dunkers in all levels of hoops - from NBA to college to high school and even amateur dunkers. In this piece we go in-depth on some of the best high school dunkers of 2020.

Also, be sure to stay tuned for more in-depth write-ups of your favorite dunkers in the country.

Best High School Dunkers of 2020

Greg Brown
Greg Brown

6'8"   -   SF   -   2020

Greg Brown, Vandegrift (Austn, Texas): Big men, especially those with extreme amounts of bounce, make for some of the most entertaining dunkers of our generation (see Aaron Gordon). At 6-feet-9 with a long, wiry frame, Brown attacks the rim with a similar ferocity to that of Gordon and Zion Williamson. The five-star senior has been dubbed the most disrespectful dunker of in all of high school hoops and the video below will show you why.

Jalen Green
Jalen Green

6'5"   -   SG   -   2020

Jalen Green, Prolific Prep (Napa, Calif.): Green has some of easiest and smoothest leaping ability we've seen. The 6-foot-5 wing can stop and explode on a dime, and even though it looks effortless, Green explodes to the rim looking to throw down on someone's head. The five-star senior glides through the air en route to a poster dunk whether he's operating in transition or the half-court setting.

Josh Christopher
Josh Christopher

6'4"   -   SG   -   2020

Josh Christopher, Mayfair (Lakewood, Calif.): Christopher has that rare combination of power, physicality and explosiveness in his dunks. The 6-foot-4 guard used those traits throughout his high school career to create numerous poster dunks as he was able to take contact in the air and still finish at the rim with authority. The five-star prospect has a deep bag of dunks in his arsenal from a double pump reverse dunk to an Eastbay and everything in between. What makes Josh such a good dunker is the fact that he can create a highlight off of one or two feet.

Jonathan Kuminga
Jonathan Kuminga

6'8"   -   SF   -   2020

Jonathan Kuminga, The Patrick School (Elizabeth, N.J.): What makes Kuminga such a high-class dunker is the fact that he's so smooth and explosive at the same time, while adding in a lengthy 6-foot-8 frame. The five-star wing takes off with ease in traffic and seems to always be looking to throw down on someones head. Kuminga isn't just a power dunker, either. He has some creativity and artistry to his dunks that separates him from some of the other better high school dunkers of 2020.

]]>
The two main storylines at the 2018 Pangos All-East Frosh/Soph Camp was how incredible a game the Cream of the Crop Top 30 All-Star affair was and how good a player 6-foot-10 Micawber Etienne played all weekend long. He punctuated his weekend by scoring the winning bucket in sudden death double overtime in the camp's top all-star game. Read on for more detail about the top plays and players from the final top of the 2018 Pangos Frosh/Soph camp tour.

The deserving performers in the Cream of the Crop Top 30 All-Star Game at the 2018 Pangos All-East Frosh/Soph Camp held at the RiverWinds Center (Thorofare, N.J.) put forth a terrific performance to conclude the two-day showcase event. So good, in fact, they and the contingent of fans, parents and interested on-lookers didn't want the game to end.

Fittingly, it took a sudden death, pick-and-roll field goal from 6-foot-10 sophomore (2021) power forward Micawber Etienne off a dish near the top of the key from 6-foot-4 sophomore guard Shane Dezonie to settle matters, as the club with the Black jerseys defeated their White jersey-wearing counterparts, 87-85, in double overtime.

This particular game was, by far, the best all-star game played in recent memory at Pangos Frosh/Soph Camps. In terms of intensity, the back-and-forth action and how the game concluded, it might have been the best all-star game in the event's history.

The purpose of the four annual Pangos Frosh/Soph Camps around the country is to give underclass prospects national exposure, put them in position to perhaps earn an invite to the annual Pangos All-Amerian Camp in June, and give talented players a gauge of how they measure up against some of their peers. In that sense, it was ironic Etienne scored the winning bucket in the second overtime because the skilled power forward was the camp's most consistently dominant performer and came in relatively unknown from a national perspective.

That's not the case anymore.

Etienne, who attends Suffield Academy (Suffield, Conn.) but hails from Middletown, N.Y., was named the camp's co-Most Outstanding Player along with 6-foot-8 sophomore wing Jonathan Kuminga of Our Savior New American (Centereach, N.Y.). No player operated more effectively in the post than Etienne, who grew up in upstate New York but whose family members on his father's side hail from Haiti. He displays patience on the block and has a vast array of moves, whether it be a half hook over his inside shoulder or effective spin moves towards the baseline or a reverse to the other side of the basket. Etienne effectively runs the floor and can finish through traffic and contact. He finished the Cream of the Crop Top 30 contest with a game-high 22 points, eight rebounds, three blocks for the victorious White club.

"The game was way better than I thought it would be," said Etienne, who plays with the PSA Cardinals grassroots travel ball club. "We wanted to win and we fought hard for our win. I actually expected to play as I did because I came in with a chip on my shoulder. I feel I'm overlooked and under appreciated and that I can be one of the top players in my class."

Kuminga came in with a big-time reputation and did nothing to disspell the notion he's one of the best wing forwards in the national 2021 class. Kuminga, who participated in the 2018 Pangos All-American Camp, covers ground like a NBA player, has nice form and release on his deep jumper and can handle the ball well for his size. He sparked the White club's comeback and finished with a team-high 21 points, five rebounds and a blocked shot.

"We were playing like it was an all-star game, but every time you step on the court it's business, so we had to treat it like it was business," Kaminga said.

The Black club took a 48-31 halftime lead on an offensive rebound put back field goal by Etienne, but the White club began to chip away at its double-digit deficit before storming back in the final minutes of regulation behind the play of Kuminga and flashy 6-foot-3 freshman (2022) point guard Zion Cruz of Hudson Catholic (Hudson, N.J.). In the span of a minute, Cruz sparked a 7-0 run to make up a 76-69 deficit with a couple of baskets, steals and a nifty assist. He finished with eight points, four assists and three steals for the White club.

Kuminga tied the game at 80-80 with 5.5 seconds remaining in regulation on a wing three-pointer. In the first one minute overtime period, 6-foot-2 sophomore Rasool Diggins of Archbishop Wood (Philadelphia, Pa.) tied the game at 85-85 on a field goal with 30 seconds remaining. Kuminga also scored in the first overtime, but could not convert a pressure-packed free throw situation in the sudden death overtime after a hard drive. That's when Etienne and the Black club took advantage in sudden death (first basket wins) on the next possession to end the game.

Diggins was named Cream of the Crop Top 30 Game co-MVP, as he finished with 19 points, four rebounds and five steals for the White club. For the winning Black club, the co-MVP was hard-working 6-foot-7 freshman power forward Richard Nweke of The Dwight School (New York, N.Y.) with 10 points, eight rebounds and two steals. It was a terrific way for Nweke to conclude camp, as he played his way into the top all-star game by running the floor and working hard on the boards.

Other standouts in the game were the Black's Marcus Randolph and the White's Kyle Cuff Jr. Randolph, a 6-foot-4 sophomore guard from Trenton Catholic (Trenton, N.J.), had 17 points and two steals. Cuff, a 6-foot sophomore from Avon Old Farms School (Conn.), finished with 14 points and five rebounds.

The most explosive dunk of the event was turned in by Dezonie. The Hudson Catholic (Hudson, N.J.) sophomore came up with a backcourt steal and threw down a powerful one-hand cuff dunk on an unsuspecting defender in transition. He finished with six points, five assists (including the game-winner) and three steals for the White club.

The Cream of the Crop Top 60 Game was also a close, well-played affair. The White club won, 79-77, over the Black club behind a MVP-performance from 7-foot freshman center Silas Sunday of Our Savior Lutheran (Bronx, N.Y.). Silas, who is originally for Milan, Italy, finished with 14 points, five rebounds, two assists and three blocks.

Other standouts in the second all-star game were 5-foot-10 sophomore point guard Dantae Prescott of Nazareth (Brooklyn, N.Y.), 6-foot-6 sophomore forward Kareem Ewell of Dickson (Wilmington, Del.), 6-foot-4 freshman guard Chance Westry of Trinity (Harrisburg, Pa.), 6-foot-4 freshman guard Trey Thomas of Archbishop Carroll (Washington, D.C.), and a prospect to watch in the future, 5-foot-1 seventh-grader (2024) Kabrien Ross of Trenton, N.J.
