Everyone has seen this 2010 clip of Matt Barnes trying to scare Kobe Bryant with a ball fake to his face. And the reason why I'm bringing out this favorite clip among Black Mamba fans is because today is the eight-year anniversary -- Damn right, this is worth celebrating like a milestone -- of the day Matt Barnes learned KOBE DON'T FLINCH!

Instead of saying much about the actual play, I'm going to bring up some other interesting things about the game. But first, here's what Barnes had to say about the play during a recent visit to the I Am Rapaport Podcast.

"If you watch the highlights, he was grabbing me and elbowing me. I had a dunk tip and he elbowed me in the nuts. I told him, 'If you keep fucking with me, we are are going to fight. Fuck the basketball game. If you want to fight, we can fight.'

"So when I faked the ball in his face, it just came out nowhere. It wasn't like I planned it or anything. If that ball had hair, it would have hit his face. The motherfucker didn't flinch. I'm not surprised he didn't. Anyone else would have."

You might be thinking Barnes took a big L by not getting a reaction from Kobe. But Barnes and the Magic got the W that night and when Barnes entered free agency after that season, Kobe called him up and asked if he wanted to be a Laker. Three days after the call and a text that said, "Anybody crazy enough to mess with me is crazy enough to play with me," Barnes was a very happy Laker.

• So number one on the 'Things You Didn't Know About The Day Barnes Learned Kobe Don't Flinch' is the Lakers lost the game. The loss for the Lakers was the first three-game losing streak of the Kobe-Pau Gasol era.
• The Magic, especially future Laker Dwight Howard, was hyped for this game after hearing some Lakers reportedly referred to the Magic as "puppies."  After the game, Dwight said, "Alpha dogs usually have the big bark. But since we're so-called puppies, we won't bark as loud...You got a team full of Pitbulls and a team full of Cane Corsos and that's what happens."
• Early in the 3rd quarter, a double-technical foul was called on Barnes and Kobe for getting too physical while battling for rebounding position. Commentator Mark Jackson didn't think Kobe -- who had his arms up in the air when Barnes was in his face -- deserved a tech.
• A couple of minutes later, Barnes caught a tip dunk over Kobe, raised his legs and tried to put his crotch in Kobe's face. This is when Barnes said Kobe "hit him in the nuts." And this is where things got really crazy. The refs singled a tech and everyone in the arena thought it was on Barnes. But the tech was actually on Dwight Howard for complaining to the refs about not getting a foul call. Barnes stayed in the game and Kobe went to the line and sank one of his eight free throws. Also worth noting about this play is Derek Fisher came over and bumped Barnes after the dunk.
• Seconds after this fiasco is when the infamous inbound play and ball fake happened. What doesn't get enough attention about this play is the great commentary by Jeff Van Gundy: "When you have a pillow fight and someone fakes a pillow at you, don't you at least flinch? That's the play of the game, he didn't even flinch!" When Kobe was asked by a reporter why he didn't flinch, his response was, "I knew he wasn't going to do shit. Why should I flinch for?"

• After a missed three by Kobe, Barnes hit a clutch three with a little more than a minute remaining in the game. After a timeout, Kobe tried to respond but missed a layup.
• Seconds later, Barnes and Derek Fisher had some words, which led to a double foul. Knowing what we know now about Fisher eventually ending up with Barnes' ex and Barnes reportedly driving "95 miles to beat the shit out of Fisher," this altercation/fight preview is pretty amusing.
• After another missed jumper, Kobe hit a three and celebrated prematurely with his teammates; the refs reviewed the shot and ruled it a two, making it a one-point game. After a free throw by Vince Carter, Kobe had a shot to force OT but missed a 20-footer with a second left on the clock. Kobe finished the game with 34 points on 12-of-30 shooting.
• This has nothing to do with Barnes or Kobe but worth knowing is Metta World Peace dyed his hair blonde and wrote "defense" in Hebrew, Hindi, and Japanese in his hair.
• The Magic bench also included a young Marcin Gortat and J.J. Redick and an old Jason Williams. Neither Gortat or Redick were double-figure scorers yet and this was White Chocolate's second to last season in the NBA. You can now catch Williams playing ball in the Orlando Pro-Am with his team, Pedro's Posse.

So what are Kobe and Barnes up to now? Well, Kobe just won an Oscar (thanks to a multi-million dollar budget and the help of two legends in the film industry) and the recently retired Barnes is in the process of producing a biopic on Black Panther co-founder Huey P. Newton.

As the star QB and defensive back, he led the football team to a state championship his junior year and accumulated 21 touchdowns (14 passing), 2,204 yards of offense and 13 interceptions.

Just three months after winning a football state championship, he would lead Bethel to a state basketball championship.

NATE ROBINSON

Nate was a star football player in high school and also played football at the University of Washington. Over the past few years, he’s also dropped hints here and there about trying out for the NFL. And back in 2011,?Nate and Seahawks coach Pete Carroll exchanged some flirty tweets?to each other about the possibility of Nate trying out for the Seattle team.

DARREL ARMSTRONG

Armstrong was a high school football player and college walk-on at Fayetteville, who?twice kicked a school-record 48-yard field goal. ?He seemed like a long-shot to make the NFL but the undrafted Orlando Magic favorite (most known for doing a layup in a dunk contest) was a long-shot to make the NBA too and he lasted 13 years in the NBA.

JR SMITH

During the last lockout, when most players were thinking about going overseas, Smith, who did play overseas, joked that he was going to go to college and play football at the University of Miami. Besides being a star wide receiver on his high school football team, Earl?also had one of the greatest high school yearbook photos ever.

MATT BARNES

Barnes, an All-American football player in high school, actually received multiple tryouts invites from NFL teams?but decided to go the NBA route. You can catch him playing football in his annual Celebs vs Cancer Football games in the summer.

GLEN DAVIS?

Big Baby played defensive end, defensive tackle and tailback at University Laboratory High in Baton Rouge but chose to play basketball at LSU rather than football. I'm grateful for this decision because if he would have gone the football route then we would have never had this great moment with Nate Robinson.

PAT RILEY

The casual basketball fan probably doesn't know one of the greatest coaches of all-time was also a pretty decent basketball player in the NBA. Most die-hard NBA fanatics probably doesn't know Pat Riley was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys. It was the 11th round but the Kentucky wide-receiver can still say he was drafted by an NBA and NFL team.

BEN WALLACE

Without even knowing he played football in high school, all you have to do is glance at the 4 x NBA Defensive Player Of The Year to assume Ben Wallace could have been a star in the NFL. What's shocking is Wallace turned down a scholarship to play football at Auburn to play basketball at a community college! ?Well, it paid off for the NBA champ in the long run.

KEVIN DURANT

The Washington Redskins fan didn't play football in High School or College but he's a football fanatic that loves a good game of flag football and with his size and skill, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. I'm joking, I just wanted to share this KD vid.

MICHAEL JORDAN

The story of the GOAT getting cut from the Varsity high school basketball team is legendary (the truth is he was just a 5'10" sophomore and was named to the JV team) but what many don't know is he was also on the baseball, track and football team at Laney High.

He did end up playing a little pro baseball when he was "retired (suspended?)" in the mid-90s and I'm pretty sure if he would have dedicated himself to football instead of trying to be the next David Thompson, he would have ended up in the NFL.

Funny is the New York Knicks crowd chanting "Derek Fisher" at Matt Barnes during his 1 for 11 shooting performance on Sunday. Not so funny is Barnes being accused of choking a woman in a NYC nightclub later that night.

According to TMZ, Barnes and DeMarcus Cousins got into a physical altercation with a few people at a NYC club after Barnes reportedly "butt bumped" a woman, who responded with a slap to Barnes' face. According to Barnes, members of the woman's entourage got involved and one of them started choking Barnes. Cousins then jumped into the melee to help defend Barnes.

In the following video of the two Kings leaving the nightclub, you can hear Cousins saying, "I hit the s*** out this n***" while shaking his hand.

Barnes' attorney has said his client is cooperating and doesn't believe he committed a crime. Barnes also released the following message on Instagram.

There's always two sides to a story. The side the media consistently tries to paint of me...and what actually happened! Don't believe everything you read.

We don't, but unfortunately there's a lot of video footage of Barnes getting into physical altercations and even more stories that support that painting the media is always showing.

The Kings also released a statement saying they are "working with all parties involved to gather information in order to take any appropriate next steps."

We don't know for a fact that Matt Barnes ande John Henson got into a fight after the Grizzlies and Bucks game. We do know the mark on John Henson's face in the video above was not not there when he was ejected with 5.5 seconds left in the game. We also know Matt Barnes is one person you do not want to piss off - ask Derek Fisher.

Let's backup a little.

With a little less than 4 minutes left in the Bucks 96-86 victory, Henson was called for a tech and a flagrant foul 1 for  throwing Lance Stephenson to the ground.

As much as Stephenson probably wanted to punch Henson, he wisely walked away.

Then with 5.5 seconds left in the game, Henson had the block of the night on a Matt Barnes layup, the stare down of the week and the mean-muggin face of the year, which just put a bigger smile on Barnes face than the time Serge Ibaka tried to get tough with him.

The stripes rewarded the two with techs, which resulted in an automatic ejection for Henson. Seemingly not giving a damn, the still pumped up Henson celebrated on his way to the locker room by throwing his jersey into the crowd and waving his arms in the air.

"That's not the type of kid that John is," Memphis center Ryan Hollins said after the game. "He's a really great kid, a shot blocker. I thought he played great tonight. So maybe it was just those emotions coming out. That's not his personality. Hopefully, no one loses any money over something that silly."

After some discussion with the refs, Barnes left the game and ran down the same tunnel with 5.5 seconds still left in the game.

You can use your imagination and guess what happened between this video and the video interview above.

My imagination is telling me something like this might have happened....

And Henson probably pulled a Kobe thinking Matt Barnes wasn't really going to hit him.

I guess we will never really know what happened and it will be a mystery, just like the meaning of an "Ejection: No Ejection."

I've never read a novel by Nicolas Sparks but I saw the film adaptations to his books Message In a Bottle, A Walk To Remember, The Notebook and Dear John and I can honestly say I fell asleep during all 4 of them and I'm not looking forward to watching any more adaptations of his books including this weekend's "The Best of Me."  I don't care how much Blake Griffin, Matt Barnes, Chandler Parsons liked it or how much Iman Shumpert cried or how funny Jimmy Kimmel makes teasers for the film.

I am still looking forward to Blake Griffin's film debut. He's only done more commercials than the rest of the Clippers combined and has a natural feel for comedy.

Flag football is usually a pretty harmless sport.  That's what I thought and that's what Snoop Dogg/Lion/? thought before he signed up for Matt Barnes Athletes vs Cancer Flag Football Game and was tackled by DeAndre Jordan.  I think DJ just likes the sight of opponents on the ground.
