Greensboro Day has reloaded BIG TIME despite losing a few D1 seniors from last years defending state championship team. The Bengals brought in Carson McCorkle, Tripp Greene, and Nick Eptimov all from the #HoopState to go along with seniors John Newman (Clemson commit) and Will Dillard. After their first 2 games of the season, it looks like GDS means business as usual and may be the favorite to repeat as NCISAA 3A State Champions.

Check out highlights from Providence Day guard Devon Dotson, who recently committed to Kansas University for next season. He's a 6'2" guard who ran with Team Charlotte under the tutelage of former UNC guard Jeff McGinnis. Dotson is a true point guard who gets his team involved. He's capable of finishing through contact, is a pesky defender, and an improving three point shot. He's currently ranked 25th in the 247 Composite ranking and the number 2 senior in the #HoopState. I don't know how the in-state schools let another one slip but Dotson is sure to make them regret that decision. Stay tuned for more highlights for the future Jayhawk!

Basketball started officially in the #HoopState this week as the Phenom National Showcase commenced at Greensboro Day School. The kickoff event hosted some of the top teams in the state along with some powerhouse names from around the region. Headlining the event was no. 1 Oak Hill led by seniors Tyshon Alexader, Devontae Shuler, and Billy Preston. Word of God, Greensboro, Cannon School, Providence Day, and Greenfield were a few of the schools representing North Carolina. The weekend was full of top plays whether they were poster dunks, handles, or even a game-winning basket. Check out what all the excitement was about this weekend as we count down the top plays from the Phenom National Showcase hosted by Rick Lewis and Jamie Shaw of the Phenom Hoop Report.

Oak Hill Academy Goes 2-0 at Phenom National Showcase! Fab 50 #1 Team Full Game Highlights!

The Ballislife Fab 50 rankings done by Ronnie Flores just named Oak Hill their new no. 1 in the rankings this week. Last night the Warriors opened their season on the road against Word of God Christian Academy at the Phenom National Showcase and they backed up their new status as no. 1. Led by seniors Matt Coleman, Billy Preston, Tyshon Alexander, and Devontae Shuler, the Warriors had to claw their way back into the game as they faced a deficit until the fourth quarter. Word of God was led by UW commit Blake Harris and UNC commit Brandon Huffman as they continually found each other for a big-time dunk.
