The IT stop in LA has been a fun and interesting one so far. After putting up season-highs and almost season-highs across the board in his Lakers debut, Isaiah Thomas was ejected after just five minutes in his second game.

The ejection happened late in the first quarter after the former Boston point guard exchanged some words, bumps and shots to the face with former Boston point guard Rajon Rondo.

"I got hit in the face three times, and the third time I got hit in my face, I reacted and tried to tell the refs, 'Are you guys going to control this?' Said Thomas, who feels his technical fouls should be rescinded.

Here's what he had to say about Rondo, who had an issue with the Celtics honoring Thomas on the same night as Paul Pierce and doesn't think the Celtics should honor players that didn't win a championship.

"Whatever reason, he's an upset guy about me. I don't know what it is, but it's fine. He kept bringing the tribute up, when I was the one that shut the tribute down. I'm far past that. ... For me to be ejected was uncalled for."

Thomas on his history with Rondo.

"I mean, my team beat his team in the playoffs last year. Maybe that is what's wrong. I don't know. There's nothing. Nothing should've made that escalate like it did. He already had his agenda written down right when I checked into the game. It was obvious. He picked me up full court, trying to be physical.

"I don't know what was going on with him. I don't know why I got thrown out. I don't want to comment too much on it. ... It was obvious what was going on. He was being too aggressive for whatever reason, and he also hit me in the face three times. At some point, as a human, if no one is going to protect me, I got to protect myself, and that is when I spoke up and got upset. I hope the NBA figures something out with that, because it was wrong for me to be ejected."

Here's what Coach Luke Walton (also ejected in the game) had to say about Thomas.

"I thought Isaiah did everything he could to not get caught up in it and they let it just keep going and going and going and in my opinion took the easy way out...That was part of the frustration I had built up."

Rondo declined to speak about the incident after the game.

"You want to keep making it a story. It's not nothing. Next question."

Along with John Calipari's summer camps, Friday's UK Alumni Charity Game raised over a million dollars, including $150,000 for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. It was also another platform for Karl-Antnony Towns, who wrote a column about racism on The Players' Tribune, to make a statement about social issues by wearing "Love trumps hate" and a crossed-out "Racism" on his sneakers.

"I think everyone thinks we're athletes so our intellectual capacity is not enough to understand topics or we're not capable to fully explain feelings, what you feel about the topics," Towns said after the game. "But that's not true. A lot of us athletes, a lot of us are well educated. A lot of us have a spot in our heart that we feel like we try to get knowledge from people, tell people how we feel. There's nothing wrong or soft about letting people know how you feel."

Towns finished the game with a game-high 33 points on 16 of 18 shooting. Rajon Rondo had 13 points, 8 boards and 7 crowd-pleasing assists -- the best was an off-the-head alley-oop to Eric Bledsoe. Other players included Boogie Cousins, Jamal Murray, Jamaal Magloire, Tony Delk and Terrence Jones.

As an extra treat for Kentucky fans, a Legends game was also played that featured NCAA legend Jack "Goose" Givens, 7'3 Shagari Alleyne, Rex Chapman and Kenny "Sky" Walker. Bobby Perry led all scorers with 17.

Per Marc J. Spears of the Undefeated, here's what Rondo had to say about the greatest shooter of all-time (yep!) divorcing Rondo, KG, The Truth and the rest of the 2008 Celtics to join the "enemy."

I don't know a good analogy to put this in. It just wasn't the greatest separation. It wasn't the greatest thing that could've happened to us as a team, a bond. We were at war with those guys [Miami]. To go with the enemy, that's unheard of in sports. Well, it's not so unheard of. It's damn near common now.

The mindset we had. The guys on our team. You wouldn't do anything like that. It makes you question that series in the Finals … Who were you for? You didn't bleed green. People think we had a messed-up relationship. It's not the greatest. But it's not just me. I called and reached out to a couple of other vets and asked them what they wanted to do with the situation. They told me to stick with what we got [without Allen].

According to Ray in a 2012 interview with the Miami Herald, his relationship with Rondo started back in 2009.

The friction with Rondo began in 2009 when Rivers and Celtics president Danny Ainge proposed a trade that would have sent Allen and Rondo to Phoenix for Amare Stoudemire, Leandro Barbosa and the 14th overall pick in the 2010 draft.

Allen said that, at the time, Ainge and Rivers “didn’t get along” with Rondo.

“So, I called him and I told him, ‘hey they’re supposedly trading us to Phoenix because you and Danny and Doc don’t get along,’?” Allen said. “?‘So, whatever you can do.’

“So, for some reason, I guess he thought that I was … that I had something against him, or there were some issues. And I had no issues with him. I won with him.”

Now, Allen says if Rondo “had issue with me, that’s on him.”

So it's no surprise Ray Allen wont be getting any invites from Rondo but this story does give me an excuse to share my favorite ItsReal85 video (starts at 43 second mark), with KG planning to kill Ray Allen for wanting to leave Boston.
