The Championship Game

Committed to my Craft 124, 4DEEP 122

The championship game between Committed to my Craft and 4Deep was one of the most exhilarating matchups of the year. In an intensely close game, Zavier Simpson, of Committed to my Craft, hit the buzzer beater at the end of regulation, to score the championship trophy for his team.

Through the first quarter, Craft were firing on all cylinders, and quickly commanded a 29-23 lead over 4 DEEP. Furthermore, Khalil Iverson and Vitto Brown scored a combined 11 points for Craft.

Trey Burke and CJ Penha were a colossal duo for 4DEEP in the second quarter. Burke added 12 points, along with Penha's 7. In addition, Lamine Komara dropped back-to-back three-pointers, in which 4DEEP took a 59 to 58 halftime lead.

Trey Burke had an incredible third quarter

Both teams stayed equally competitive and aggressive throughout the second half. In the third quarter, Craft's Zavier Simpson and D’Mitrik Trice scored 10 points a piece. Meanwhile, Khalil Iverson showed off some slashing skills with 7 points. 4 DEEP was able to keep the race close, thanks to Trey Burk's 17-point effort in the third. Even with Burke's production, Committed to my Craft reclaimed a 93-92 lead heading into the final quarter.

Every remaining possession was a dog fight until the end, with both teams swapping the constant lead. Morgan Safford and CJ Penha had statement dunks, along with a high major block by Dibaji Walker. 4DEEP was given a chance to pull away, however, D’Mitrik Trice took charge.

In the final quarter, Trice scored 16 total points for Craft. Consequently, with 50 seconds left in the game, Burke gave 4DEEP a 122 to 120 lead, following a four-point play.

After a thrilling final stretch, Trice hit a long two-point jumper to tie the game. Upon an even game, 4DEEP put the ball back in the hands of Burke.

With the matchup tied 122 all, Trey Burke missed a shot attempt, which was short, and hit the front of the rim. With Committed to my Craft grabbing the rebound, they were able to reset and calibrate the offense.

The final shot

Near two seconds left, D’Mitrik Trice made several moves to probe the defense, and then passed the ball to Zavier Simpson. In dramatic fashion, Simpson took a dribble, and banked the shot for the game winning buzzer beater. The fans stormed the court and celebrated Committed to my Craft, who won their second consecutive Championship.

Zavier Simpson, of the Detroit Pistons, had an impactful game in his Kingdom debut. Simpson, along with D’Mitrik Trice, combined for 64 points in the backcourt. In a soaring offensive final, Trice's 39 points, and Simpson's 25 were able to overcome Trey Burke's 52-point game.

Players of the game: D’Mitrik Trice and Zavier Simpson

Committed to my Craft 90, McGlade Max Pro 81

Off to slow start, Committed to my Craft was able to get an early lead. Max Pro, who had a slow start, fell behind 21-18 by the end of the first quarter. Joe Thomasson scored 33 points in his season debut, and Max Pro ran into trouble in the second quarter. By halftime, McGlade Max Pro found themselves down 43-33.  Although Max Pro played more efficient in the third quarter, Scott Thomas and Ron Lewis began to take charge.

D’Mitrik Trice kept Max Pro alive, scoring 8 points in the quarter. In an exhilarating final quarter, Max Pro took a brief lead, thanks to Scott Thomas, Aaron Craft and Ron Lewis. In the final minutes of regulation, Joe Pro was nearly unstoppable. Joe, D’Mitrik and Vitto Brown's big baskets were too much, and which they sealed the victory. The defending champions, Committed to my Craft, are headed back to the championship game.

Player of the Game:  Joe Thomasson

4DEEP 85, Hype 614 77

The matchup between these two teams was an absolute dogfight, in which Hype 614 came out swinging. 4 DEEP looked frightened and immobilized. After the first quarter, Hype commanded a 28-27 lead, showing no fear.

By halftime, 4DEEP commanded a 47-42 lead. Dibaji Walker had 11 points by the half, which was not up to normal standards. Morgan Safford and scored CJ Penha 10 points each. Matt Bingaya and Gary Hoover attempted to keep Hype 614's championship hopes alive in the final quarter. CJ Penha, and Junni Mobley, of 4 DEEP, hit back-to-back buckets, to secure their ticket to the championship.

In next week's championship game, Committed to my Craft, the defending champions will face off against 4DEEP. Overall, Junni Mobley was excellent in his Kingdom League debut, and it was a collaborative, team win.

Week 5 recap

Future 96, Bexley Car Care 87

Future broke out of the winless ranks by defeating Bexley Car Care, 96-87. They outscored Bexley 57-45 in the second half, supported by Dennis Asoro's 20 points, and James Manns 19 points, and balanced attack. Following the loss, Bexley Car Care lost a significant chance to secure a spot in the upcoming playoffs. Corey Benton had a breakout performance, scoring 35 points for Bexley Car Care. Bexley Car Care stands at 2-3 while Future descends to 1-4.

Player of the Game: Dennis Asoro.

Hype 614 101, Buckeye Prep 92

Hype 614 kept their playoff chances alive, after a win over Buckeye Prep. Jamel Morris was a huge force, hitting shot for shot the entire game. With the victory, Hype ended Buckeye Prep's hopes of making this year’s playoffs. Jamel Morris finished with 36 points and 8 triples. Along with Morris, Tyrel Jackson (25 pts) and Travis Easterly (21 pts) were two big factors for the Hype. Furthermore, Jared Sullinger (30 pts) and Evan Ravenal (27 pts) were big factors for the Buckeye Prep. The league is entering the final week of the season, and Hype 614 moves to 2-3 with three remaining teams. Buckeye Prep falls to 1-4.

Player of the Game: Jamel Morris

Committed to my Craft 100, McGlade Max Pro 99

This was the game of the week, which was an absolute barn burner. The defending champions, had a hard-fought thrilling win over McGlade Max Pro. The Little General (Travis Trice) led the team and dropped a sensational 37 points. In addition, Committed to my Craft crawled back from a 14-point deficit in the second half. Former OSU Buckeye, Lenzell Smith (28 pts) and Brett McKnight (21 pts) powered Max Pro, and Trice scored 22 second half points. Unfortunately, a turnover by Max Pro cost them the game with 5 seconds remaining. Up by two points, Trice sank 2 free throws which negated Lenzelle Smith's buzzer three-point shot. With the victory, Committed to my Craft moves to 4-1 and McGlade Max Pro drops to 3-2.

Player of the Game: Travis Trice

4DEEP 107, Reitano SportsCenter 98

In a highly anticipated matchup, 4DEEP continues to show why they are the cream of the crop. This game featured the top players in the league, Trey Burke (4DEEP) and Darius Bazely, of the Brooklyn Nets (Reitano SportsCenter). They started out hot, and this was a game of runs. Led by Burke, 4DEEP commanded a 25-9 first quarter lead, where Penha led with 18 points scored in the first half. 4DEEP held a 50-33 halftime lead, before the game got interesting.

Reitano SportsCenter closed the gap by 5 points, thanks to Darius Bazeley, Terry Durham, Paul McMillan IV and Tre Baumgardner. However, the play of Morgan Safford (22 pts) and Trey Burke (21 pts) was too much. Stafford and Burke combined for 43 second half points and powered 4 Deep to the win. Durham and Baumgardner hit back-to-back shots, and Morgan Stafford, of Miami University hit threes.

Trey Burke, a crafty, NBA Veteran, dished out 12 assists and scored vital back-to back buckets, to quell Reitano's last run. The 4DEEP trio of Safford (33pts), Burke (31 pts) and Penha (29 pts) combined for 93 of the teams 107 points. Reitano was led by Terry Durham (25 pts), Paul McMillan IV (22 pts), Tre Baumgardner (20 pts) and Darius Bazely (19 pts). With the win, 4DEEP secures the one seed, and remains undefeated at 5-0. Reitano SportsCenter now stands at 2-3.

Tonight, is the NBA Summer League Championship between Cleveland Cavaliers and the Houston Rockets, in which both teams are competing for their first ever Summer League Championship.? If you missed my last article, I discussed the money line, totals, and spread bet odds for the matchup tonight.? In this piece, I will go over player prop and game prop bets and analysis.? The game will start at 9 PM EST and will air on ABC.? ?If you are looking for the best betting odds, stats and analysis, here is information to know.

Player Prop Specials?

*Odds courtesy of Draft Kings*

Cam Whitmore 20+ Points (-180)

I like Cam Whitmore 20 + points, and for several reasons. Whitmore was recently named the NBA 2K24 Summer League MVP and has more momentum than any player.? In 5 games, Whitmore averaged 31.5 minutes per game, which was 7th, and 20.4 points, which ranks 13.? It's important to note, when looking at points per game totals, both teammates Jabari Smith Jr., and Tari Eason were in the top 4 in points per game.? Those two players were out for three consistent games, and I feel Whitmore's points per game could've been higher.

Furthermore, Whitmore scored 25 plus points in two straight games, and hit 20+ points in three out of his five games played.? If you look at the graph provided above, you can look at his points per game trends, and how it stayed trending since game 3.? Although Cleveland has a mean defense, they gave up 99 points against the Brooklyn Nets, who had six players with points in double figures.? In fact, Cleveland allowed Brooklyn to attempt 36 three-pointers, in which they made 39 percent of them.? I expect Whitmore to continue to shine tonight and prove the doubters wrong. Give me Cam Whitmore OVER 20 points.?

Sam Merrill 5 +Threes Made (+130)

*All graphs made by Sara Jane Gamelli*

Sam Merrill has been a consistent player for the Cavaliers and hasn't decreased his shooting volume.? In four games, Merrill ranked 1st in the league in 3-Point Attempts Per Game at 11.? In addition, Merrill ranked 2nd in 3-pointers made per game, at 4.8, and shot 43.2 percent from beyond the arc.? At first, I didn't like this bet, since Sam Merrill only hit 5+ 3-Pointers made once.? However, if you take a look at the graph above, his three-point attempts are steadily?increasing, and Merrill hit 8 made threes in game three against Memphis.? It's important to note Memphis was a solid defensive team and allowed opponents to score 86.8 points per game.? These players are on the biggest stage tonight, and some are fighting for a roster spot.? Although Merrill only hit the 5+ mark once, his shot volume and minutes are there.? Last game against the Nets, Merrill played 36 minutes, attempted 13 three-pointers, and 17 total shots. Give me Sam Merrill 5+ 3-pointers made.?

Emoni Bates 20+ Points (+110)

Emoni Bates was easily one of my favorite players to watch this summer and was considered an MVP candidate. Bates was extremely consistent for the Cavaliers, in which he averaged 16.8 points per game, 29.6 minutes played, 6.2 rebounds, and shot 41 percent from the 3-point.? Although Bates hit over 20 points only once, much like Merrill, his shot volume has increased significantly since game 3.? In fact, Bates scored exactly 20 points on 8-13 and 4-5 shooting last night against the Nets in 34 minutes. Bates ranks within the top 15 in 3-Pointers Attempted Per Game (7.8), and averages 13.8 total shots per game. This is a Houston team that allowed the Utah Jazz to put up 101 points, in which all five of their starters had points in double figures.? Furthermore, the Rockets allowed the Jazz to attempt 88 total shots, and 45 three-point shots, and the lowest a team has scored against Houston was 92 points.? Give me Emoni Bates OVER 20 points here.?

Trends Rockets vs. Cavaliers

*All graphs made by Sara Jane Gamelli*

Why the Houston Rockets can cover the spread.

The Rockets are the underdogs at +2.?

The Houston Rockets came into the summer with a loaded roster and learned to adapt.? Also, The Rockets started the Season with a thriller against the Trail Blazers.? Jabari Smith Jr. scored 33 points and hit a buzzer beater to secure the win.? The Rockets unfortunately lost 4th overall pick Amen Thompson, due to an ankle sprain, and Houston pulled Jabari Smith Jr. and Tari Eason by the third game.? The Rockets continued dominance with their roster, and beat both the Detroit Pistons, and OKC Thunder, who were talented teams this summer.

Players & Analysis

The Rockets relied heavily on their 20th overall pick, Cam Whitmore, Trevor Hudgins, Nate Hinton, Jermaine Samuels, and Darius Days. In addition, Whitmore played with a chip on his shoulder, knowing he could've been drafted in the top ten.? Cam Whitmore ranked top 15, and averaged 20.4 points, 31.5 minutes played, 5.6 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2.2 assists. In their must win game against the Utah Jazz, Houston had five players with points in double figures.? Moreover, Whitmore and Hinton had a combined 52 points, 2 blocks, and 6 steals last game.? More importantly, the Rockets shot 96 percent from the line, 38.8 percent from the three-point, and 45 percent from the field against Utah.

Overall, not one team could stop the Rockets offensively, even in the absence of Thompson, Eason, and Smith Jr.? The Rockets finished the summer league with the top offense, and most points scored per game at 110.2.? Furthermore, Houston is TIED with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the best point differential at +11.4.? Although Houston allows nearly 100 points scored, they averaged almost 117 points in 2 games.? Houston is looking for their first ever summer championship, and will have to feed the hot hand, which is Cam Whitmore.

Why the Cleveland Cavaliers can cover the spread.

The Cavaliers are favored at -2.?

The Cavaliers are favored at -2 and are also undefeated this summer.? Also, Cleveland hasn't had many injuries, and had one of the most consistent lineups through five games.? Through five, Cleveland had two impressive wins over the Brooklyn Nets, and a win against Chicago. Additionally, the Cavaliers pulled off a 102-99 must win in overtime against the Brooklyn Nets last night.? Emoni Bates made the go-ahead three-pointer with 56 seconds left, before Nets Armoni Brooks responded with a three-pointer with 24 seconds.? Ultimately, this game went into overtime, and Isaiah Mobley make a 9-foot shot with 1:35 to win the?game.

Clevland has gotten consistent, incredible production from the 49th overall pick, Emoni Bates.? In fact, Bates averaged 16.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and shot 41 percent from the three-point in five games.? In a must win game last night against Brooklyn, Bates had 20 points 7 rebounds, and shot 8-13.? Along with Bates, Sam Merrill, the 2020 60th overall pick has been equally as consistent for the Cavaliers.? In four games, Merrill averaged 18.8 points, 27.5 minutes, and shot 43.2 percent from the three-point.

Furthermore, Merrill scored 19 points on 5-17, 4-13 shooting last night against the Nets. Isaiah Mobley, a 2022 second round pick, has been a force on both sides of the court.? In five games, Mobley averaged 15.8 points, 1.4 blocks, and 7.8 rebounds.? Along with those statistics, Mobley had the game winning basket last night, along with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks.? Although Cleveland lacks big star names, they've gotten incredible production out of their starting five.

Prediction

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been an offensive powerhouse, averaging nearly 98 points a game.? Now that we established their offensive game, let's talk about their defensive aspect. The Cavaliers were one of the best teams in the NBA last season, and that's shown this summer.? Through 5 games, Cleveland held opponents to 86.4 points a game, which is 12.4 less than the Rockets. Moreover, the Cavaliers haven't allowed an opponent to score 100 points and didn't allow more than 83 games in games 2-4.? I wouldn't be surprised if the Cavaliers hold the Rockets to 100 points or less here.

Overall, Houston has the better offense, and stronger numbers in the last two games.? They took care of a Utah Jazz team, who was ranked first in several shooting categories.? The Rockets are shooting 40.8 percent from the three-pointer in the last two games, while Cleveland is shooting 31.2 percent from the three.? Although Cleveland has better defense, Houston has the better offense, and their margin of spread covers are larger.? Houston has the momentum, while Cleveland was tested in late game situations.? I think Cleveland has a little bit more steam on both ends of the court in this one. The Rockets will need some help off the bench, in which Magee scored 21 points.? Give me the over at 191.5 and the Cavaliers at -2.??

The Summer League semifinals are today, and it's down to four teams, the Rockets, Jazz, Cavaliers and Nets.  In case you missed my last article, I discussed the odds and stats for the Cavaliers vs. Nets game today.  Both the Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets are undefeated, and will play today at 6 PM EST, on ESPN2.  In this article, I will break down the latest gameplay, betting trends and stats related to this matchup.  If you are looking for the best betting odds, stats and analysis, here is information to know.

2K24 NBA Summer League Championship Odds:

*All odds courtesy of Draft Kings*

Utah Jazz vs. Houston Rockets

Utah Jazz: +155
Houston Rockets: -180
Over/Under: 189 (-110)
Spread: Rockets -4.5 (-110)

Utah Jazz

Record: 4-0
Opponent Points Per Game: 94.8
Wins: LA Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns
PPG: 101.5 | FG: 48.5 % | 3 PT: 48.5 % | FT: 75.4 % | REB: 41 | AST: 26 | STL: 6.3 | BLK:| TO: 17.8

The Utah Jazz are one of the remaining undefeated teams, and lost their rookie star, Keyonte George due to an injury.  The Jazz scored 33 points in the 4th quarter and fended off the Phoenix Suns 97-93.  In their final game, the Jazz had four starters with points in double figures, and Johnny Juzang got the start in place of George. Utah ranked second in the league in points averaged (101.5) and three-point percentage (37.2), first in three-point attempts (41), and field goal percentage (48.5).  In addition, the Jazz scored over 100 points games in a row, and their lowest score was at 96.  Although Utah has a high-powered offense, they finished fourth in point differential (+6.7).  Besides the game against the Timberwolves, the Jazz won their games by 7 games or less, and now have to play Houston with a player down.

Betting trends and Stats:

The Utah Jazz won the money line in all four games and covered the spread only two times.  In Utah's 97-93 win against the Suns, Phoenix covered the spread, and the Nuggets covered in their 96-91 win.  Additionally, all four of their games hit the OVER.

Key Players

Johnny Juzang- 2022, undrafted player

Johnny Juzang got the nod for the start against the Phoenix Suns, after Keyonte George went down with a gruesome ankle injury.  Juzang has minimal experience in the NBA, but certainly performed last game.  Juzang led the Jazz with 24 points, 4 assists, and 7 rebounds. Furthermore, Juzang shot 7-16, and 3-9, in addition to 10 free-throw shots.  It's important to note Juzang QUIETLY scored 26 points in 25 minutes off the bench in their 108-96 win against the Timberwolves.  Johnny Juzang will need to step up in the absence of Keyonte George if Utah wants to advance to the summer finals.

Luka Samanic- 2019, 1st round, 19th overall pick (Spurs).

Luka Samanic is showing why he was a first-round pick and has experience in both the NBA and G-league.  In three games, Samanic averaged 16.7 points, 7 rebounds, and shot 51 percent from the field, and 36.8 from three. Samanic has great size and has been one of the most consistent players for the Jazz.  Without Agbaji and George, Samanic scored 22 points in 27 minutes, along with 2 blocks, 1 steal, 4 assists, and 6 rebounds.  Samanic shot 50 percent from the three and had a good number of high-volume shots.  Look for him to have a big game tonight.

Houston Rockets

Record: 4-0
Opponent Points Per Game: 98.3
Wins: Golden State Warriors, Oklahoma City Thunder, Detroit Pistons, Portland Trail Blazers
PPG: 109 | FG: 47.6 % | 3 PT: 36.5 % | FT: 75.3 % | REB: 37 | AST: 20.8 | STL: 9.8 | BLK: 6.8 | TO: 13.7

The Houston Rockets will be without rookie Amen Thompson, Jabari Smith Jr. and Tari Eason.  Without those players, Houston continued to win, and had a dominant performance against the Thunder, Pistons, and Warriors. Houston is had the number one offense in the league, and rookie Cam Whitmore is looking like a steal.  In fact, the Rockets scored over 100 points in all four of their games, and their point differential was +10.7.  Bottom line, the Rockets have a ton of young talent, who continue to hoop, even without three of their starters. No one has been able to defeat them, nor slow them down offensively.

Betting trends and Stats:

The Rockets won the money line in all four games and covered the spread in three.  In addition, all four of their games hit the OVER.

Key Players

Cam Whitmore- Forward, 1st round 20th overall pick

Cam Whitmore is showing why he could've been a top 10 pick.  Whitmore played the summer with a chip on his shoulder and was a top 20 player this summer. In 4 games, Cam Whitmore averaged 19.4 points in 31.5 minutes played, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3.5 steals.  Although cold from the three, Whitmore found ways to score, and had 8 steals alone against the Warriors.  In that game, Cam had 26 points, 5 rebounds, and shot over 50 percent with those steals.  Whitmore does a little bit of everything on the court and is playing at an elite level.

Trevor Hudgins- Guard, 2022 undrafted player

Trevor Hudgins may have gotten lost in the rotation and had a rough couple of games; however, he emerged as a star in the final two games.   In his last few matchups, Hudgins averaged 28 points and 9 rebounds.   In those games, Hodgins shot 37.5 percent from the three, and 45 percent from the field.  Hudgins stepped up with the absence of Jabari Smith Jr., Eason, and Thompson. Trevor was aggressive and took high volume shots.  I except both Hudgins and Whitmore to be key factors in tonight's game.

Prediction:

Both of these teams are undefeated and missing key pieces in their starting lineups.  Despite these players absences, the Jazz and the Rockets remain the top offenses in the league, and both teams hit the over in all four of their games.  The Jazz are number one in field goal and three-point percentage, and the top team in assists.  I do want to say the Jazz will cover; however, I am going to go with totals on this one.  Both Houston and Utah average over 100 points, and I am going to take the OVER with this one.

With three days left in the NBA 2K24 Summer League, the race is tight for the championship. If you're in a legal state and of legal age, some books are still offering future betting.? As of right now, the Cleveland Cavaliers are the favorite, with the Houston Rockets trailing. Both the Cavaliers and Rockets have punched their ticket in the playoffs, and the next round will determine what other teams get in.? There are 8 games today, tomorrow, and the Championship game will be held on Monday, July 17th, at 9 PM EST. In this article, we will look at the odds and evaluate the future summer champion.? Of course, these odds will change once the semifinals end, and we will look at the books again.? If you are looking for the best betting odds and stats, here is information to know.

2K24 NBA Summer League Championship Odds:

*Odds Courtesy of Draft Kings*

Cleveland Cavaliers: +200

PPG:?96.8?| FG:?46.4 % | 3 PT:?37.3 %?| FT: 73.7 % |?REB: 45.5 |?AST: 20.5 |?STL: 6 |?BLK: 7 | TO:?17.3

Record: 4-0

Opponent Points Per Game: 83.3

Wins: Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, Memphis Grizzlies, Chicago Bulls.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been one of the more impressive, surprising teams, and are the favorites to win the 2K24 Summer Championship.? Cleveland locked themselves into a playoff spot and finished the summer undefeated.? The Cavaliers have one of the top producing offenses and allow only 83 points a game.? Emoni Bates, drafted 49th overall, is looking like quite a steal for Cleveland.? Bates has scored in double-digits in all of their four games, added 21 points on 5-8 three-point shooting, along with 2 steals and blocks against Memphis.? The Cavaliers roster includes second year picks/players Sam Merrill, Isaiah Mobley, Luke Travers, and Khalifa Diop.? Foward Pete Nance, son of Larry Nance, has been a contributor this summer as well. In addition, Craig Porter Jr. is very deserving of the two-way contract that Cleveland gave him.? The Cavs have great size entering the semifinals, along with defensive, and will need production from a number of players.

Houston Rockets: +300

Record: 4-0

Opponent Points Per Game: 98.3

Wins: Portland Trail Blazers, Detroit Pistons, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors.?

PPG: 109?| FG:?47.6 % | 3 PT:?36.5 %?| FT: 75.3 % |?REB: 37 |?AST: 20.8 |?STL: 9.8 |?BLK: 6.8 | TO:?13.5

There's good and bad news for the Houston Rockets.? They unfortunately lost the 4th overall Pick, Amen Thompson with an injury early on in this summer. They eventually shut down second year player, Jabari Smith Jr., after he erupted for a few 30 plus games, along with Tari Eason.? ?Without those three players, Houston is the top offensive scoring team this summer, and put up 118 points in the win against Golden State.? Cam Whitmore, the 20th overall pick, is showing why he could've been a top 5 pick.? In fact, Whitmore added 26 points, along with 8 steals last game.? Guard Trevor Hudgins had a double double last game, dishing out 11 assists and 23 points.? Darius Days, who has experience in the G-League, has filled in nicely for Smith and Eason (16 points).? Houston also has Jermaine Samuels Jr., who's balled out this summer. The Rockets have managed to stay afloat, without three of their main players. They also had an impressive win over the Thunder, without their three main players. I really like the Rockets to win it all, although they aren't as dominant, and Whitmore is an MVP candidate.?

Utah Jazz: +450

Record: 3-0

Opponent Points Per Game: 95.3

Wins: LA Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets

PPG:?87?| FG:?40 %?| 3 PT:?39 %?| FT:?75 %?|?REB:?36?|?AST:?21?|?STL:?12?|?BLK:?12?| TO:?13

The Utah Jazz were considered one of the favorites, until they lost rookie guard Keyonte George due to a right ankle injury.? George, an MVP candidate, averaged 22 points, and shot 44 percent from the three and over 50 percent from the field in three games. With George, the Jazz were one of the top offensive teams (103 points per game).? It's important to note Utah managed to pull off the win 96-91 after George left the game.? The Jazz have Ochai Agbaji, acquired in the trade with Donovan Mitchell, Micah?Potter, Luke Samanic, Nick Ongenda, and Colbey Ross. The Jazz certainly have players that can step up with NBA experience, however, it will be hard to replace Keyonte George.? George not only set the tone for the Jazz, but he had 32 assists between the Salty Lake City and Vegas Summer League.

Brooklyn Nets: +500

Record: 3-1

Opponent Points Per Game: 86.5

Wins: Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors

Losses: Cleveland Cavaliers

PPG: 96.5?| FG:?40.7% | 3 PT:?33.3 %?| FT: 73.6 % |?REB: 41.5 |?AST: 18.5 |?STL:?12?|?BLK: 11.5 | TO:?15.5

The Brooklyn Nets have one of the higher scoring offenses this summer, and don't allow teams to score many points.? Brooklyn has an impressive 3-1 record, although they barely beat a struggling Raptors team 99-94 in overtime last game.? The Nets have a good amount of depth, led by rookie Noah Clowney and Jalen Wilson, Kennedy Chandler, David Duke Jr., and Armoni Brooks.? Both Brooks, Chandler, and Duke Jr. all have NBA experience, including playoff play.? Wilson, the rookie out of Kansas, hit the game winning bucket, and is playing with confidence.? Although Brooklyn isn't my top option to win the Championship, they have a ton of young talent with a high celling potential.??

Teams to consider:?

LA Lakers: +3000

Record: 2-1

Opponent Points Per Game: 88.7

Wins: Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets.

Losses: Boston Celtics.

PPG: 95.3?| FG:?43.7 % | 3 PT: 41.2?%?| FT: 73.9 % |?REB: 40.7 |?AST: 19.7 |?STL: 5 |?BLK: 6 | TO:?13.7

The Los Angeles Lakers are a very good team; however, they did drop their last game to the Boston Celtics.? Los Angeles averages over 95 points a game and is filled with young talent.? Max Christie has been a breakout star, along with rookie Jalen Hood-Schifino, Cole Swider, D'Moi Hodge, and Center Colin Castleton.? Although the Lakers had some cold shooting last game, they are averaging over 40 percent from the three-point in three games.? The Lakers are extremely top heavy, and all four of their starters had points in double figures.? In addition, Christy led the way with 24 points, 2 steals, block, and 8 rebounds.? If the Lakers win tonight, they will be able to sneak their way into the playoffs. In their only loss against Boston, the Lakers defensive was nonexistent, and didn't have an answer for Boston and their zone defense.? If the Lakers can get production from all five of their starters and shoot well, I can see them moving on. Los Angeles will take on Memphis tonight.

San Antionio Spurs: +10000

Record: 2-1

Opponent Points Per Game: 79.3

Wins: Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards.

Losses: Portland Trail Blazers.

PPG: 93.7?| FG: 38.8?% | 3 PT:?32.1 %?| FT: 62.7 % |?REB: 43.7 |?AST:?21?|?STL:?12?|?BLK:?12?| TO:?13

Yes, the San Antonio Spurs are still considered the "longshots" to win this year's summer championship. The Spurs shut down rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama, which has been the main story line.? What people aren't talking about is how well San Antionio played in the California Summer Classic, and the talent they have this summer.? The Spurs stand at 2-1 and need to win to be considered into the playoffs.? In addition, San Antonio is playing a Detroit team, who will be depleted from most of their main core.??

The Spurs didn't generate a ton of offense until their last win over Washington 96-85.? Although they aren't the best three-point shooting team, the Spurs play hard defense, and limit opponents to 79 points per game. San Antionio has a very talented core between Dominick Barlow, Blake Wesley, Julian Champagnie, and Malaki Branham.??In fact, Barlow is averaging 16 points a game, and Julian Champagnie with 14.? We saw these two guys have massive games in the California Summer Classic, and Blake Wesley is averaging close to 14 points per game as well.? In addition to all this talent, Branham added 29 points on 5-6 three point shooting last game.? The Spurs may be without Wembanyama, and may play smaller than other teams, however, they've looked dangerous the entire summer.? Look for Cissoko, to play hardnosed defense. Their odds are long, however, if the Spurs win tonight, I like their chances.?

There is officially three more days of Summer League, and eight games are on the slate today, starting at 4:30 PM EST.??In today's article, we will discuss the best plays, odds and stats.? All games today will be held at Cox Pavilion and Thomas & Mack Center, located in Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition, all games will air on ESPN, ESPN2 or NBA TV.? ?Victor Wembanyama, Scoot Henderson, Brandon Miller, Jaden Harvy, Amen Thompson, Keyonte George, and Jabari Smith Jr. have all been shut down for the summer league for various reasons, of you're looking to bet on props.? If you are looking for the best betting odds and stats, here is information to know. Let's cash out tonight!

OKC Thunder (2-1) vs. Washington Wizards (1-2)

Spread: Thunder -4.5
Broadcast: NBA TV
Over/Under: 184.5
Money Line: Thunder -175, Wizards: +150

Prediction:?

The Oklahoma City Thunder are 2-1 and covered the spread in two of the last three games.? OKC is without second year player, Jalen Williams, and it is unclear if Chet Holmgren will play tonight.? The Thunder have NBA ready players, including Ousmane Dieng and Chet Holmgren. Second year player Jaylin Williams has struggled, and Jared Butler has been consistent.? Additionally, OKC is coming of a 98-87 win against the Pacers, and Holmgren had his best performance of the Summer.? Chet was +18 on the floor, scored 25 points, on 9-15 and 7-8 free-throw shooting. Holmgren had 5 blocks, 1 steal, and 9 rebounds as well.? With that performance, I would not be surprised if the Thunder shuts him down for the remainder of the summer. Overall, the Thunder shoot great from the field, however, are only shooting 30 % from the three-point.?

The Wizards are 1-2 and are coming off a three-day break.? Washington lost to the Spurs 96-85 their last game and have drafted rookies Bilal Coulibaly and Xavier Cooks.? All of their starters have been consistent, although not one player has yet to dominate and take over games.? Ryan Rollins, included in the Jordan Poole trade, has had some consistent games for the Wizards, along with Johnny Davis, the 10th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. Overall, the Wizards rank near last in three-point shooting, (25 percent), and average 90 points a game.

If Holmgren and Dieng play, the Thunder have NBA ready talent and depth.? Although the Wizards have young talent, I've yet to see a player take over any games. Plus, they don't have proven NBA talent.? I would like to point out Coulibaly and Vukevic are forces on both sides of the floor.? Give me OKC +4.5 here (-110).?

LA Clippers (2-1) vs. Philadelphia 76ers (1-2)

Spread: Clippers: -1.5
Broadcast: ESPN2
Over/Under: 185
Money Line: Clippers: -125, 76ers: +105

Prediction:?

The Clippers are coming off a two-game which streak and have a + 4.3 point differential.? In their last two wins, the Clippers have had low scoring games, and kept their opponents to 74 points scored and under. "Microwave Scorer" Xavier Moon has been playing exceptionally well and consistent, along with Kobe Brown.? Outside of those two, there isn't a ton of offense generated by other players.? Los Angeles is a well balance team, who is more team centered, rather than just one player.?

The 76ers are coming off a two-game losing streak, in which they lost to the Atlanta Hawks by one Point. Although defense is an issue, Philadelphia put up 98 points against Atlanta, and 103 points against Dallas.? Philadelphia is full of young talent, including Ricky Council IV, Jaden Springer, Terquavion Smith, and Javonte Smith, just to name a few.? The 76ers are second in the league in points scored, along with three-point percentage (37.8).

I think this will be an absolute showdown between Xavier Moon, Kobe Brown, Jaden Springer, Terquavion Smith, and other offensive players.? I think Philadelphia has more offensive weapons, although I do think the Clippers will score on them.? In what should be a close game, the 76ers have the slight edge in talent and depth. Give me Philadelpha +1.5 (-110).?

Boston Celtics (1-2) vs. New York Knicks (1-2)

Spread: Boston: -1.5
Broadcast: NBA TV
Over/Under: 183.5
Money Line: Boston: -125, Knicks: +105

Prediction:?

The Boston Celtics recently got their first win of the summer against the Lakers, 95-90.? Boston's only pick of the 2023 NBA Draft, Jordan Walsh, had his best game of the summer. Walsh scored 25 points on 10-20, 2-7 shooting, and grabbed 8 rebounds.? Jay Scrubb had another nice game with 18 points off the bench, and the Celtics had five players with 10 points or more.? Dalano Banton, a recent free agent signing for Boston, had a cold shooting night, and finished with 12 points.? Although Boston doesn't have any big proven names, Justin Champagnie and Jay Scrubb have NBA experience, and JD Davidson with the G-League.? All eyes will be on Jordan Walsh again tonight, who was an elite defender at Arkansas.?

The Knicks won their last game, 82-80, in overtime, against an Orlando Magic team who remains winless.? New York has barely scored 80 points in their last two games and haven't had a ton of offense dominated by a single player.? In their last two games, the Knicks are shooting under 30 percent from the three.? Besides Charlie Brown Jr., and Jaylen Martin from Overtime Elite, it's been hard to find explosive offense from other players.?

Boston is coming off an impressive win against the Lakers, who have a lot of talent.? Although the Knicks have young players, they don't have as much depth or talent as Boston.? The Celtics have more experience in both the summer league, G-League, and the NBA. Give me Boston -1.5 (-110).?

Dallas Mavericks (2-1) vs. Indiana Pacers (2-1)

Spread: Pacers: -2.5
Broadcast: ESPN
Over/Under: 179.5
Money Line: Mavericks: +125, Pacers: -145

Prediction:?

The Mavericks announced yesterday that Jaden Hardy will miss the remainder of the Summer League, due to a shoulder contusion.? In three games this summer, Jaden Hardy averaged 23 points per game.? The Mavericks also shut down McKinley Wright, who has an ankle sprain.? In two summer games, Wright averaged 8.5 points per game, and shot very well. The Mavericks are coming off a 98-86 win against the Warriors, in which Hardy led the way with 21 points.? Dereck Lively II, Mike Miles Jr., A.J Lawson, and Olivier-Maxence Prosper will all have to step up in Hardy's absence.?

The Pacers are coming off a 98-87 loss against the Thunder.? Indiana was without second year player, Benedict Mathurin, and it's unclear if he will return for tonight's game. The Pacers also sat Andrew Nembhard.? ?Jarace Walker added 20 points, although he was cold from the three. In addition, Isaiah Wong had 17 points, the 55th overall pick from Miami.? It was clear the absence of Mathurin and Nemhard affected the Pacers. They shot just 38 percent from the field, and Sheppard had an off game.?

Without Hardy and Nembhard, the Mavericks are missing two players who could easily score over 20 points.? Dallas currently ranks 6th in points per game (96.3), and they allow nearly 97 points per game.? Also, if Benedict Mathurin doesn't play, that will discount a portion of offense for the pacers.? With their top offensive players out, I like under 180.5 points.?

Miami Heat (2-1) vs. Denver Nuggets (0-3)

Spread: Heat: -4.5
Broadcast: NBA TV
Over/Under: 177
Money Line: Heat: -190, Nuggets: +160

Prediction:?

The Miami Heat are coming off a 91-72 win against the Milwaukee Bucks and are currently on a one game winning streak. Although Miami shot an impressive 49 percent from the field, they shot 26 percent from the three.? The Heat were without two of their top producers, Nikola Jovic and Jamie Jaquez Jr.? Center Orlando Robinson had another monstrous game, scoring 25 points, 2 steals, and 8 rebounds.? Also, Jamal Cain had another big night with 24 points and 8 rebounds.? Drew Peterson added 10 points, and had a great night defensively, along with Jamaree Bouyea, who had a triple double. Look for Dru Smith to step up tonight as well.?

The Denver Nuggets are searching for their first win of the summer and are coming off a 96-91 loss against the Utah Jazz.? Although Denver is winless, their last two games have been decided within 5 points, and the Nuggets have scored over 90 points the last two matchups.? The Nuggets are led by Collin Gillespie, who is coming off a leg fracture in 2022. Cassius Stanley, Julian Strawther, and Hunter Tyson?are players to look out for tonight.??

The Denver Nuggets covered the spread last game and have a shot with Jovic and Jaquez Jr. out.? In addition, Denver shot 41 percent from the three, and 36 percent the game before.? Denver is due a win, or at least to keep this game close, as long as Orlando Robinson doesn't have another big night.? Give me Denver +4.5 (-110).?

San Antionio Spurs (2-1) vs. Detroit Pistons (2-1)

Spread: Pistons: -3
Broadcast: ESPN
Over/Under: 184
Money Line: Spurs: +130, Detroit: -150

Prediction:?

The Spurs announced this week they saw all they needed to see from rookie Victor Wembanyama, and will shut him down for the remainder of the summer.? We saw the Spurs play well in the California Summer Classic, are coming off a one game win streak, and have a point differential of +4.7.? The Spurs have some serious hoopers in Malaki Branham, Dominick Barlow, Julian Champagnie, and Blake Wesley.? The Spurs rank third in the league in defense (78.3 opponent points per game), although they are ranked near last in points scored (84).? San Antiono is coming off nearly a 100-point performance, in which four of their starters had points in double figures.?

The Pistons entered the Summer League with one of the most talented, NBA ready rosters.? Detroit shut down the play of Jaden Ivey, James Wiseman, and Jalen Duren, who made up for the bulk of the offense.? The Pistons are coming off a 94-90 win against the Raptors, in which Amen Thompson had 17 points, 4 steals, 2 blocks, and 9 rebounds.? With the core players out, all eyes will be on Thompson, Marcus Sasser out of Houston, and Jared Rhoden. The Pistons also have a deep bench, which provided 30 points.?

It's unclear if the Spurs will continue to start their main core of players.? We saw Detroit barely get a win over a Raptors team who isn't good and caught up at the end of the game.? Assuming San Antonio will start their main core, I like their chances. Give me San Antonio +3.?

Utah Jazz (3-0) vs. Phoenix Suns (1-2)

Spread: Jazz: -5
Broadcast: NBA TV
Over/Under: 179
Money Line: Jazz: -205, Suns: +175

Prediction:?

The Utah Jazz remain undefeated, and one of the best teams this summer. In fact, they rank third in the league in points scored (103), fourth in three-point percentage (37.3), and second in field goal percentage (48.5).? The Jazz have high scoring offense in all three games, led by Keyonte George, Colbey Ross, Ochai Agbaji, Luke Samanic, Micah Potter, and others.? In three games, rookie Keyonte George is averaging 21.7 points, and is shooting nearly 45 percent from the three.? This Utah team is an extremely talented group full of players with NBA Experienced and impressive rookies.? Unfortunately, George will miss the rest of the summer with an injury.?

The Suns are coming off a one game losing streak against the Pelicans, 82-73. In their three games, the Suns rank last in points scored (73.3) and have a -5.3-point differential.? One only player, Sherfield had over 10 points in their starting lineup, and the minimum offense is concerning.? Phoenix also ranks second to last in three-point percentage. (23.5) and free-throw percentage (56.5).??

If the Jazz play all their core players, I don't believe this game will be close.? Utah has NBA experienced players, more depth and talent.? For the Suns, I expect Hale, Gabe Brown, and Sherfield to put up a fight tonight on both sides of the court. I cannot trust the Suns with the little offense they've put out.? Even with Keyonte George out, Give me Jazz -5.?

Memphis Grizzlies (1-2) vs. LA Lakers (2-1)

Spread: Lakers: -2.5
Broadcast: ESPN
Over/Under: 182.5
Money Line: Grizzlies: +125, Lakers: -145

Prediction:?

The Memphis Grizzlies are coming off a two-game losing streak, including a loss to the Clippers, 83-74.? Memphis has talent between Jake LaRavia, Kenneth Lofton Jr., and David Roddy.? Memphis played hard defense last game, in which Lofton Jr. and Gilyard had two steal a piece.? Jake LaRavia put up 22 points on 6-15 and 2-7 shooting, along with Lofton Jr (24 points).? I've said this all summer, Memphis doesn't have big NBA names or talent surround them, especially off the bench.??

The Lakers are coming off a loss against Boston and are a very top-heavy team. The Lakers have a high scoring offense, featured by Max Christie, Hodge, Hood-Schifino, Swider, and Castleton.? Although they lost by 5 points against Boston, the Lakers shot 40 percent from the three, and nearly 89 percent from the free-throw line.? It's important to note, Los Angeles only had 6 points off their bench from Baugh.?

Overall, I think the Grizzlies will play tough defense against the Lakers.? Los Angeles has stronger starters, and a much more productive offense than Memphis.? Look for all of their starters to continue to impress and fight for a roster spot.? Give me Lakers -2.5 (-110).?
