The hoops season is officially underway in the state of South Carolina as the SCBA hosted their annual jamboree at the Upwards Athletic Complex in Spartanburg, SC. This year their were a total of 8 teams that competed in the event with Columbia-baed Gray Collegiate Academy as the "hot" team to keep an eye on. This year they were able to add 2017 UNC-Chapel Hill commit and Top 30 player, Jalek Felton. With Felton as the point guard helm, the War Eagles now have a dynamic 1-2 punch along with 6'6" Top 30 sophomore, Juwan Gary. Blake Harris & Coby White Poster Dunks Headline Phenom National Top Plays! #HoopState Season Kickoff!

Basketball started officially in the #HoopState this week as the Phenom National Showcase commenced at Greensboro Day School. The kickoff event hosted some of the top teams in the state along with some powerhouse names from around the region. Headlining the event was no. 1 Oak Hill led by seniors Tyshon Alexader, Devontae Shuler, and Billy Preston. Word of God, Greensboro, Cannon School, Providence Day, and Greenfield were a few of the schools representing North Carolina. The weekend was full of top plays whether they were poster dunks, handles, or even a game-winning basket. Check out what all the excitement was about this weekend as we count down the top plays from the Phenom National Showcase hosted by Rick Lewis and Jamie Shaw of the Phenom Hoop Report.

Jalek Felton is UNC's NEXT Point Guard! Official Junior Year Mixtape

It's hard to argue if there's a more creative passer than Jalek Felton in the Class of 2017. The future UNC Commit will be looking to over the reigns once he arrives on campus for Coach Roy Williams. The 6'3" point guard will be enrolling at Gray's Collegiate Academy this year after attending Mullins HS the previous three years. If the last name rings any bells you don't have to look far as his uncle is former UNC Tarheel and NBA pro Raymond Felton. On the UAA circuit this past spring/summer, Felton led his Team Felton squad to the final four of the UA Circuit averaging 19.6 PPG and dishing out 4.6 APG. Though he may be the most creative passer in 2017, he's going to have to cut down his turnover ratio to become the ultimate playmaker. After going winless in the ACC this past season, Boston College is hoping Ty Graves is their answer at point guard. Graves is a 6 ft. guard from Greensboro, NC and hopes to make an instant impact for the Eagles. He brings in shifty handling skills along with a deadly jumper from deep. This past season he played for Coach Brandon Clifford at High Point Christian Academy along side Kentucky signee, Bam Adebayo.
