This is why I hate a lot of media people and vented about these media events back in 2015, when Kevin Durant told the media, "You guys really don't know shit" and "Y'all not my friends."  They ask the same stupid questions over and over again, knowing it's not the time or place where the the player being interviewed wants to discuss those type of questions. It's called All-Star break, so give the guys a freaking break and allow them to have some fun and enjoy the weekend that is supposed to honor them.

In the video above, Westbrook deflects a couple of questions about Durant and then lights up when he's asked a question by a little kid, 15-year old Jarrius Robertson, who did mention KD but also hilariously told Westbrook they need more shooters. Did you see what happened? Repetitive questions by a serious adult = negative response; fun questions from a kid = positive response.

I'm not saying all the adults in the room should start acting like kids but if they approached the athletes and the game with the joy they had when they were kids, then maybe they might get something better to write about in return. And if those media people are only there because it's their job then don't ruin another person's job because your job sucks.

An interesting note about Westbrook's Bruins' days is he was a backup to Darren Collinson during his freshman season and mainly played shooting guard (still led the team in assists at 4.3 per game) his sophomore year.

He was also a teammate/roommate with Kevin Love and the two were supposedly so competitive, they even had thermostat wars. Love also just recently matched Westbrook's undisclosed 2015 donation to UCLA, which was the largest by a former Bruins basketball player in school history. In return, the school will name a training facility after him.

It was questionable whether Russell Westbrook was fouled or not by Chris Paul on a 3 point attempt that led to 3 free throws at the end of the game, but there was no question that Westbrook was a force in GM5 when he scored 23 of his playoff career-high 38 points in the second half.

"He's fierce and he's fearless," Brooks said. "He's a winner. The guy competes for his team every single night, and he practices the way he plays. He makes basketball plays to put our team in a winning position."

"I think when you get a win like this, it brings everybody closer," Westbrook said. "It lets you know you can't mess around. You have to take every moment, every play, and go out and win the game."

The Thunder now lead the series 3-2 and?Westbrook is averaging 30/7/7 for the series.
