Smith commenting about controversial comments from the upcoming book, 'The Miraculous Rise of Steph Curry' about players like LeBron, Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul \"disliking\" the 2 x MVP because of his popularity and the way he's been celebrated over the past couple of years.<\/p>\n<p>Here's Smith's former colleague, Skip Bayless, talking about the same topic and Marcus Thompsons' book with Shannon Sharpe and Chris Broussard on the show 'Undisputed.'<\/p>\n<div class=\"omc-video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width:100%; height: 100%\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2i0pSJb5eYk\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen width=\"600\" height=\"420\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>On&nbsp;a recent episode of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/art19.com\/shows\/dray-day\/episodes\/d63b96d5-212c-40cf-83af-0a142c90d990\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Dray Day podcast<\/a>, Draymond Green also talked about the buzz around the \"hate\" for his teammate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u201cAll of it goes back to the old saying: They want to see you do good, but never better than them. That\u2019s what it boils down to; that\u2019s jealousy. \u2026 They want to see you do extremely good, but they never want to see you do better than them \u2014 and he\u2019s doing better than a lot of people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">When you look at Steph\u2019s life. They had money, but Steph wasn\u2019t treated like they had money. He couldn\u2019t watch TV (all the time). He had chores. They didn\u2019t raise them like they were just these privileged kids, which shows why they\u2019ve got two sons in the NBA and a daughter who\u2019s doing great in college. They weren\u2019t raised like that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">People just automatically think that, \u2018Man, this guy ain\u2019t from the hood, he ain\u2019t cut like that, he ain\u2019t cut from a different cloth. He\u2019s supposed to be soft and this, that.\u2019 And of course, Steph is light-skinned, so they want to make him out to be soft.
