On the Westside (Los Angeles), former No. 1 NBA draft pick Greg Oden failed to be selected in Ice Cube's Big3 draft; on the Eastside (New York), former No. 1 NBA draft pick Blake Griffin and the man who should have been the No. 1 pick instead of Greg Oden surprised a couple of the top picks in the WNBA draft.<\/p>\n<p>After A'ja Wilson was selected by the Las Vegas Aces with the first pick in the 2018 WNBA draft, she was given a tablet with a congrats from her favorite player, Blake Griffin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\"Congratulations on being drafted. It's been very fun to watch your college career and to see you go to the next level. I can't wait to see what you do in the league. You're going to dominate for a long, long time. Again, congrats and I'll be watching.\"<\/p>\n<p>6th pick Azura Stevens also received a message from her favorite player, Kevin Durant.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\"What up. Congratulations, I'm so proud of you. Good luck in your WNBA career. Hopefully I get to check a game out soon. Much love.\"<\/p>\n<p>The No. 9 pick, our friend Lexie Brown, also got a special message from a former NBA player, her father! Brown's dad is former NBA dunk champion Dee Brown, who also used to be a WNBA coach. Brown's selection makes this the first time a daughter of a WNBA coach has made it to the league.<\/p>\n<p>Another father and daughter connection worth mentioning is No. 3 pick Diamond Deshields.
