{"id":89117,"date":"2014-10-07T22:02:50","date_gmt":"2014-10-07T22:02:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bilcomprd.wpengine.com\/?p=89117"},"modified":"2021-03-27T13:31:13","modified_gmt":"2021-03-27T20:31:13","slug":"5-year-old-boy-with-leukemia-plays-for-the-utah-jazz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ballislife.com\/5-year-old-boy-with-leukemia-plays-for-the-utah-jazz\/","title":{"rendered":"5 year old boy with Leukemia plays for the Utah Jazz"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"omc-video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width:100%; height: 100%\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/M3WmFCkJqGg\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen width=\"600\" height=\"420\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>It's not often we get to brag about a Utah Jazz signing or talk about a highlight from a Jazz game\/practice\/scrimmage unless it's a Jeremy Evans dunk but this signing and highlight from yesterday's scrimmage is worth a highlight of the day honor.<\/p>\n<p>The Utah Jazz signed a 5 year old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukemia named JP Gibson yesterday to a 1-day contract and allowed him to play and even throw down a \"2 hand flush\" in a scrimmage.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bil-5yr.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-89138\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/bil-5yr.jpg\" alt=\"bil-5yr\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Via\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sltrib.com\/sltrib\/blogsjazznotes\/58493730-62\/jazz-gibson-http-twitter.html.csp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Salt Lake Tribune<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>\"JP loves most sports, but basketball is definitely his favorite,\u201d his mother, Megan Gibson, said. \u201cWhen he was just over a year old, he would sit with my husband Josh watching games. He started insisting on shooting hoops for an hour each night before bedtime when he was just 15 months old.
